    No, you should support him because he is undoing the continual growth of the state at the expense of the individual. Up to now, it's been a matter of how fast the state grows. How much regulation gets added each year -- by both parties.

    His force of personality and willingness to stand up to the combined effort of the establishment is more important than his ideological purity. We didn't get to this place in one step by one president, we won't get out of it in one step either.

        Where is your sympathy for Hillary Clinton who not only took abuse from the Republicans and conservatives (as expected) but was accused by the Bernie Sanders wing of her party of collaborating with billionaires against the interests of the American people. She held up pretty well, smiling throught the campaign, until the unkindest cut of all on election night. Was she a rock for you?

          Maybe I should have sympathy for a sick in the head often smiling back at you sociopath, but I just can't bubble any up for the "What difference does it at this point make?" Bloody Benghazi Bitch and Crooked Cackles of the Clinton Crime Cartel Foundation.
          Her when a candidate "I dream of open borders" statement scared me into getting a 9mm carbine with two 30-round clips.
          I named it "The Evil Hag." I've only taken it out of hiding to look at it once since she lost the election.
          I still buy 9mm bullets though.

              I had copies of a letter size picture of Bill (from a newspaper headline that made him appear like a monarch blessing the peasants around him) that I used for a target for a long time. Still have copies in my range bag.
              Not very satisfying though.

                Me dino shot Osama Bin Laden in the face like that. Glad a SEAL shot him in the face for real.
                What tickles me about Bin Laden is all those photos taken of him with an AK47 as if he was always ready to fight to the death.
                But what did he do when when his hideaway was raided and he heard shots closing in on him? The coward left his AK hanging on a wall.
                Yeah, Bin Laden sent an untold huge number of martyrs to their deaths, some being children. Bin Laden was deliberately unarmed when he got popped peeking around a corner. Me dino thinks it highly likely he was at least contemplating a surrender.
                Wonder if anyone sells targets of Bin Laden in a chicken costume.

                  And I doubt any of the reports of the death of Bin Laden are true. All a facade of disinformation. No body = no evidence = more Obama bullshit. Just like his bullshit birth certificate. Obama's entire presidency was a fraud and Obama should have been the target you used at the range. He and Bush killed a lot more innocent people, including Americans, than Bin Laden.

                    But Robert O'Neil is this guy I've seen on TV going around saying he was the SEAL who shot Bin Laden in the face.

                    Me dino does not know what to think. Unlike Elvis, there has been no resurfacing Osama sightings.

          Emotions aside, I took the time to read Hillary's policy statement on her web site, and that was the basis for my judgement that she was dangerous to the survival of the republic. She was essentially declaring open borders, eviscerating the American military, increasing taxes across the board (even for low wage earners, by increasing the payroll tax), crushing the energy industry, and acceding authority to globalist organizations.

          The Donald made my skin crawl at times with his outrageous statements (I am a Rand Paul supporter), but his policy objectives didn't pose the outright threat to our continued well being that Hillary's did. The choice was obvious, and I haven't regretted it.

      Is he perfect? hell no , but he has stood up to the established swamp. He recognizes the disadvantage the USA has with trade and he sees the global warming for what it is . A phony premise that is meant to extract wealth from The USA. He has told the UN to stick it where the sun Don't shine. He has called out the fake news. Thanks Mr President.

      Exactly, I voted for him becaue he could slow down the spread of collectivism. He isnt an objectivist, and if he was, he would never have been elected. But, he is a LOT better than the hildebeast and her ilk.

      (1) Interesting misplaced modifier:
      "... he is undoing the continual growth of the state at the expense of the individual." It is at the expense of the individual that he is undoing the continued growth of the state.

      (2) However, I doubt that that is true. Name one thing that President Trump has done to "undo the continued growth of the state."

      (3) If anything, his proposals from the Border Wall to tariffs on imports and taxes on corporations are very much a promise to continue the expansion of government.

      (4) Congress, staring with the House of Representatives, makes the budget that defines what government can and cannot do. The President signs it or vetoes it, but he has no power to initiate anything except by moral persuasion, pretty much just like you but with a megaphone.

        Regulatory cutbacks, some return of national monument land, reduction in the power of the EPA, removal of much of the emphasis on "Climate Change", lower corporate taxes. And he's just getting started.

        Is he a libertarian? No, he's lived his entire life in New York and is probably pretty liberal in attitudes.

        While in theory Congress defines what the government can and cannot do, the regulatory state really runs things and anything that can be done to decrease their power is, in my opinion, a good thing.

      President Trump could say the same things if he had won as a Democrat. He was a Democrat most of his adult life. He chose to run as a Republican because it was an under-served market with weak providers. He did not run as a Democrat because Hillary Clinton had that market as a near-monopoly.

      President Trump is no more emotionally committed to your issues than he is to a golf course or a hotel.

        As a businessman, Trump has been, and continues to be a pragmatist regarding achieving goals. I agree he has less outright emotional commitment to some of his goals, but it's matter of willingness to accept less than some would like, rather than all or nothing. He has passion for certain things, and believes in actually doing them instead of mouthing platitudes. His declaration of human trafficking as a national emergency has put substantial teeth into enforcement, unlike the unsupported emotional statements of past presidents. That's just one example.

Hillary Clinton was emotionally committed to the opposite side of our issues, and would have effectively enforced her views had she won. Trump is being reasonably effective in addressing the areas in which we agree with him, and that being the case I couldn't care less how emotionally committed he is to these issues.

    You are right. There are a lot of other reasons to support Trump. Like his track record of 2017, which is better than any other president. While the sanctimonious complained nonstop about Trump’s tweeting, Trump accomplished an incredible amount of good things even Objectivists can support during his first year as president. The Washington Examiner counted an impressive 81 major achievements and another 100 minor achievements. Some of the largest include substantial tax cuts, increasing U.S. energy production, revoking 22 regulations for every new one, and getting Neil Gorsuch confirmed. He appointed more judges to the federal appellate courts than any other president during their first year and reduced illegal immigration. I wake up every morning happy Trump is president and not Hillary. Now if Trump will get wobbly-knee and spineless Sessions to do his job he will put some major former players in prison. 2018 can be even better.

      I think Trump will eventually have to ask for Sessions resignation, or fire him outright. Sessions is a swamp creature, through and through, and is recusal smacks of Establishment influence. He's a do-nothing that will block cleaning out of the political cesspool that is the current DOJ.

    I supported Trump because he was against PC speak, because he knew economics and because he he was willing to call a terrorist a terrorist. Hillary worried me from the day years ago when I read her 92-page thesis glorifying the Marxism of Saul Alinsky. I was not pleased when she promised to censor political sisents on the Internet or when she promised to make any questioning in public of global warming a crime. She had set race against race from her days as First Lady (if you can call her a lady), in true Alinsky fashion. Trump was not my first choice, but way better than the alternative. I still hate the stupid tweets, but he is speaking out. Hillary was for making her and her cronies richer, but about controlling the masses.

    I view Trump as disappointing. His "you're fired" is not used much at all. Of course he can't fire most of the herd in Congress, tho.

    America is going nowhere but into the Great Global Collapse. So "more of the same" continues to wipe out America and it's Constitution. Too bad that Jefferson was in France instead of attending that Convention.

    No, that is not why I support him, even though he is semi-unsupportable in some areas due to his childish statements.

    I support Trump because he is reducing the scope of government beyond any previous President. I never thought he would be this good at this, but he is better than just about any of the other candidates we pondered, except perhaps the irritating Mr. Cruz, but we'll never know now.
