Unfarging believable. The founding fathers apparently either had nothing to do with setting the very foundation of our country, or they were closet Muslims.

iroseland posted Heaven on Earth, The Rise and Fall of Socialism yesterday. It is well worth the almost 3 hours. "way back then" is still alive in D.C. The Marxists will do everything except admit that Socialism sucks.

Well, if there was a Malcolm X, then there must have been 9 Moslems before him, right?

It is an authoritarian collectivist ideology, which is why it is completely incompatible with the individualist ideology of the Founding Fathers.

The other day I overheard a manager talking about a new hire needing a translator. The new hire only speaks Persian...

    She's from Israel.

"Ya know, after all these years of Dear Leader "

After his disastrous "leading from behind" foreign policy, can't we start calling him "Deer Leader" instead?

Mohammed, a guy at work, has to fast during the daylight...

He works nights, however. So he sleeps through the fast. I wonder if it still counts?

I missed that Timelord. I'm just not sensitive enough. I do remember a couple of years ago a school in South Carolina I think wanted to set aside an area for Muslim students to pray. Didn't go over to well.

You are correct, timelord. However, all apostates would be considered non-Muslim and fall under the same category.

What should also be mentioned was that this was long before government taxation of enterprise or the individual. All federal taxes were based on import duties, so the pirates were hitting the Federal Government where it hurt the most - the pocketbook.

I don't think you're correct on that one. An apostate is a person who has left a religion, any religion. I think you're referring to "dhimmi" which is a non-muslim living under Muslim rule.

From wikipedia: Dhimma allows rights of residence in return for jizyah—tax collected from non-Muslims.

But it causes real and specific pain to people that most politicians don't have the stones to defend. When you have to look into the face of a grieving family and tell them that their loss was for the greater good of not supporting other loss in the future, that's a hard conversation to have, and most politicians don't have the stomach for it.

Going back to the root of the topic - if they are the fabric of the nation, then we need some serious reupholstery...
