give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses of spent reactor rods, yearning to breathe free -- and we will put them to work in our reactor! -- j
p.s. I saw lots of the parts for the Clinch River breeder reactor, and damn near cried when they were sold for scrap.
And often lose money, too. The bandwagon in the financial market often goes up LONG after it is reasonable for it to go up. Betting against the bandwagon too early is the cause of many a lost shirt.
My favorite too as well as " we need to have compromises ". Tell me where is there a compromise between a Atheist and a Christian. One says leave me alone, and the other must try to convert you.
My favorite from the list is Bandwagon, because it can make you a lot of money. When absolutely everyone is on the bandwagon in a financial market, take the other side of the bet and you will often make money.
unfortunately, I have found issues where both sides were wrong. like "how long have you been beating your wife", no answer is presented which is good. storage of spent nuclear fuel rods might be an example -- when they really should be chemically recycled into usable fuel for a new type of reactor. -- j
"People who take Government handouts are Moochers. Ayn Rand accepted Social Security and Medicare. Ayn Rand is a Moocher." The logic is right, but premise that people who take gov't handouts are Moochers is not correct. Moochers are people who advocate for handouts. Honest people who pay taxes as required by law and take advantage of gov't benefits they're legally entitled to are not Moochers, IMHO. The Moocher part is aiming for freeloading as a lifestyle or promoting other people doing it.
One of the most egregious justifications for altruism (ie government welfare) there is. It is a combination of appeal to emotion and "no true Scotsman".
I absolutely love that poster. I deal with that stuff daily. Problem is...almost no average American would have any clue what any of it meant. Not one f'ing clue.

Thank you!
that was the logical fallacy I was trying to remember before.
A perfect example of fallacies created by omitting operational data.
