For the most part, Christian conservative are the kind, polite individuals who wish to engage in respectful, meaningful interactions with everyone. There are certainly some hostile and contemptible people within the Christian, or for that matter, any community. The Internet definitely emphasizes the extremes in any movement, too.

I'm no different in person than I am here.

Except clicking on me in person to hear what I have to say can get you hurt :)

From what I have experienced firsthand I agree with this article whole heartedly. From what I have seen on the internet, i.e. YouTube and Yahoo Answers, I would say she’s wayyyy off base. I don't know if it’s a matter of saying whatever you want from behind a keyboard and being able to get away with it as opposed to the compulsory etiquette which goes with personal interaction or what. On the web I have seen Christian conservatives write some pretty vile things and conduct themselves rather poorly. Face to face I have never had a problem.
So the real question boils down to this; Are Christian conservatives in general the kind, polite individuals who wish to engage in respectful, meaningful interactions with atheists and truly wish to hear their philosophies? Or are they just socially polite but on the inside the hostile and contemptible people you bump into on the internet?
