US ship collisions; Seamanship and leadership issues, not malice

There were several posts on this subject in the past, and several hypotheses about the issue. Unfortunately, bad leadership and basic incompetence were the root cause, not enemy malice.

    Therefore, we need more money so it doesn't happen again.
    Incompetence of a few is much less dangerous to the mission of the Navy than technical systems failure whether due to bugs or due to enemy activity, imo.

      Operationally they need more discipline, I don’t know about needing more money for operations. I do think they need to increase shipbuilding and increase the effectiveness of the ships. LCS and DDG1000 were complete wastes of money. They need real capable ships, not toys.

      Intend to agree with your second point, but the equipment was overwhelmingly capable in this case.
