Biden Says Texas Church Hero Should Not Had "Assault Weapon"

Because Bobblehead said that (or just about anything else), I put this post in Humor.
In the link (love his photo'd stupid expression), he only refers to a law that expired during 2004. It banned having more than 10 rounds in a clip.
It also banned pistol grips on shotguns but naughty me dino had one of those the whole time. I spit on any kinda twisted Second Amendment bans.
I traded my pistol grip pump gun in for a standard shotgun when invited to a dove hunt. Why? Because I freakin' felt like it.
Anyhoo, most of us knows an assault rifle shoots full automatic. The hero and the mass murderer had high ammo capacity semiautomatics. Only libtards call those rifles and a shotgun with a pistol grip "assault weapons.
"Should not have?" Should not have high capacity clips due to a law that expired 13 years ago?
Listen up, Sherlock. Tell me why could I legally buy two 9mm 30-round clips for a modified AR-15 looking semiautomatic carbine I nicknamed "The Evil Hag" after projected to win Candidate Cackles said, "I dream of open borders."
Me dino just wanted to be prepared for such chaotic insanity.
As for Bobblehead Biden, me dino knows what to expect should he become Groper-In-Chief and the GOP lose both the senate and the house for being a rat pack of craven RINOs.
I'm not giving up a damn thing unless it's about trading with a gun store or another gun owner.
Me dino has done both several times.

Any and every weapon used to assault could be called an Assault Weapon. Hammers are often the weapon of choice.
These people are dumber than the rocks they crawled out from under.

Good point. I could use just my bare fists to assault someone.
An assault weapon in military terminology is capable of automatic fire.
But yesterday I successfully assaulted a fly on the wall.
Here last night, the first freeze of this winter (30 degrees) assaulted all the flies outside.
Hope they are all gone but I don't think so.

If you haven't read Unintended Consequences by John Ross, please read it. It contains a lot of history about tricks that the BATF and FBI play to entrap people who own firearms. It is also one of the most entertaining books that I have read. Read it and be careful in your trades. ;^)

Not sure we even need an ATF, or the FBI for that matter. And even if we need those services, why cant they be better done privately. The FBI only seems to work on solving crimes that were already committed. They dont prevent anything...

Be careful what you ask for. They are violating our right to privacy ostensibly to prevent terrorism. I prefer there to be an injured party to ask for justice instead of government looking to impose "justice" (or political correctness etc) on the innocent.

I intend to visit a Barnes & Noble soon. I'll look for it, though I'm only interested in stocking up on 9mm ammo for now.
But I know times can change. I only have The Evil Hag because of The Evil Hag.

Save for reteiving tax forms, I haven't used a library for ages.
Food for thought for an old dino to chew on.

You are paying for the library (and have been for your entire adult life.) It can be a valuable resource. Much more valuable than for the GD tax forms.;^)

You have a point I've failed to consider. Reminds me of a brother when the University of Alabama started to make fans pay hefty sums for parking places on game days, creating long distances to walk to the football stadium. But at the same time buses were provided.
At first my most conservative of brothers called the buses socialist and refused to ride them while my type 2 diabetes was starting to give me trouble walking.
One fine game day I argued that we were paying for all the rolling buses by paying to park on university property. I also said I'm getting on the freaking bus and he followed me on.
My health issues worsened and now I watch all the home games on TV at home.
Now my brother has a health problem, uses a cane (which I only use during a rare arthritis flare-up) and has to ride the buses.
I'm his wheels when he had surgery early next month.

Biden is just one personnification of an asshat. His agenda, like so many useful idiots agenda defies reason (and reality). The DNC will surely hold him up as its frontrunner in the next election. The establishment must be giddy-proud of its handiwork.

In reference to BATF and FBI entrapment....how many of you are familiar with this case? Unbelievable story, and yes, he's still in prison. I believe his sentence has been reduced, but he should have never been even arrested to start with. Although Curtis is a personal friend of mine, I would still be appalled had I never even met him.

"the ATF agents, using sloppy methods,"
Sloppy? More likely deliberately fraudulent methods designed to punish an innocent gun shop owner and make the BATF look like heroes.
These BATF agents lied under oath and should be put in jail for life.
The only thing about fire the BATF is expert in is using it to burn people to death (with training from the FBI.)
      Who is Henry Bowman?

      That's horrible.
Hardly a year goes by when I read about some finally proven innocent person released from a prison after wasting a huge portion of his life there.
Wonder how many times people who feared a lawsuit had to first retire or die off.

Biden is a blithering idiot! Besides being a serial cheat for stealing other people's intellectual works, he is also total moron who half the time doesn't understand what he is even talking about. Half the time he is either sound asleep or should be! Then he couldn't say something that makes his look so foolish.

His statement about the heroic actions taken by the armed man that saved lives by his gun and his actions was spot on for having the ability as guaranteed under the law of doing what he did.

Biden wants him to call the police and wait the 20 or so minutes so that the police can get there and investigate the many more injured and dead. The man is a fool, period! For that, there can be no rational (or sane) argument supporting Biden's foolishness!

Vocabulary issue. Assault is defined as "attack", but is connoted to mean "initiate the use of force upon". An assault (attack) is completely legitimate in response to the initiation of the use of force. In this definition, an "assault" weapon is any weapon used for assault.

Per Wikipedia, "assault weapon is a term used in the United States to define some types of firearms. The definition varies among regulating jurisdictions, but usually includes semi-automatic firearms with a detachable magazine and a pistol grip, and sometimes other features such as a flash suppressor or barrel shroud."

Biden made no reference to jurisdiction, but instead opined regarding the law. Politicians often place bad politics above otherwise government -- how else do we explain the increasing irrationality after America's founding? Good politics is laissez faire economics. Good government is the police, military, and courts to defend that system of politics. Thus proper government is the agent of good politics. Since the US Constitution is the basis for American government, there is only the interpretation of the document by the courts.

We do not believe citizens should have nuclear arms, of course. We do believe citizens should be able to own some arms, else what would the purpose of the 2nd amendment be? Objectively defined law per the courts is the only means we have to a legitimate decision on what constitutes the permissible from the impermissible arms.

      "Vocabulary issue. "
I think assault weapon just means any gun the person talking doesn't like.

I think he was going say, "the criminal was breaking gun laws. We need to focus on the those law to stop this from ever happening in the first place rather than allowing citizens to defend themselves." The questioner or host might say, "You're saying the shooter was already breaking gun laws? It sounds like gun control does not work." To avoid that, at 0:21 he changes tacks and recites his stock answer about gun control. Notice how his speech becomes more fluid with fewer "umms". He's giving a practiced answer starting at 0:23.

The simple answer here is the fact that a criminal (the shooter in the church) was a known criminal and if the AF did what it was supposed to do, the criminal would not have had access to "legal" weapons (not only the "assault" weapon). The law in this case would have negated the criminals ability to have the weapons that he did, thus you could say the law was fine however the following of it by the AF was not. Simple....end of story!

On the other side of the equation was Biden's illogical and frankly "stupid" statement about the hero of this story and in Biden's simple mind, he should not have had a weapon ("assault" rifle or otherwise) with which to challenge and ultimately, defeat the murderer. If Biden has his way, the murderer would have shot and killed or maimed many more people and the police would just have to fill out more paperwork. Biden is a moron......end of story!

"Biden's illogical and frankly "stupid" statement about the hero of this story and in Biden's simple mind, he should not have had a weapon "
I don't think he was saying that. I think he's saying, "I don't want to answer about the hero stopping the criminal because the criminal should been stopped by existing gun control laws, which apparently do not work, so we need more laws like that... wait, wait, that doesn't make any sense. Crap, I'm making accidentally admitting gun rights are important. I'll just give you my stock elevator speech on guns."

If that's the case, then Biden apparently has little or no integrity and is only "parroting" the "party line" on gun control and ultimately, confiscation! Either way, if he believes one thing but says another he is a hypocrite so why should we believe anything he says.

Or, if he "really" meant what he originally said, he would be denying law-abiding citizens such as the "hero" who ultimately stopped the carnage before it could get any worse. Then, Biden is in fact the idiot first alluded to.

Why me dino buys one box of Hornaday Critical Defense 9mm Luger 115 gr FTX every month on or shortly after the third Wednesday when Social Security electronically pays my checking account.
That way, I'll inexpensively collect a lot of boxes before the next POTUS election and I won't stop buying then.

Recall another shooter in a YouTube video asking "What caliber bullet would you rather be shot with?"
The correct answer: "None of them."
I could look for that waste of time. So I'm not.

That's a nice round. Are you saying you stock up on it because it's a good affordable "workhorse" round that you would need a lot of in a disaster and that you could trade easily b/c 9mm is more common? In a defense situation, it seems like it's at the sweet spot of penetrating normal clothes, even a few layers of winter clothes but expands nicely to deliver most/all its energy to the target.

I'm more interested in punching a hole than how much a hollow point expands, though some expansion is also important.
In a SHTF winter scenario, home invading looters (open border crossers perhaps?) will come bundled up.
With targets I aim upper torso center mass (at the heart) as trained both by the Marines and the Alabama Department of Corrections, the later requiring offices to annually NRA qualify with a pistol, a pump shotgun and the AR-15.
I did that for 21 years before retiring 2003. About 5 years ago I surprised grown my son at the range by being a better shot than he with his own AR-15.
The YouTube H2O video demo does not show what happens to an FTX round when it punctures the breastbone or cracks through a rib.
I use cheaper ball ammo when I go to the range by the way.

Maybe he's saying the original shooter shouldn't have had the gun he had. If that's true and criminals obeyed laws, we wouldn't need guns or police. It sounds like a clumsy way of dodging the question about the hero and bringing it back to the criminal. If he really means the guy who stopped the criminal, it's just absurd.

He did not make it at all clear if he did mean that.
In the comment section below the article, the first two commenters appear to have the same impression I did before the rest of the commenters changed the subject and began to bicker on down, on down, on down.
