      After an engineering failure it's so easy to blame the engineer or the CEO and be shocked and appalled. Even if everyone does a good job, sometimes Gertie gallops. I'm not knowledgeable about the spill, but I question blaming the management. Before the spill BP had rebranded itself unofficially as Beyond Petroleum, recognizing the need for fuel alternatives. At the same time Exxon hire a PR firm to make videos posing as videos made by hobbyists denying global warming. My impression is BP got an unfair level of blame.
