So how does someone live a life, if they are to shell out (in her case) $3600 a year in monthly premiums, on top of the $6000 deductible. Add in Rent, a likely car payment, maintenance, food, utilities & of course, all the damn taxes that comes with it, how is someone like her to have any sort of life? She needs to seriously put up the one-fingered salute and take her cash to a doc who'll accept cash only.

When I was 28 my premium was $50 w/ a $5000 deductible. Now we have a family plan for $400 a month w/ a $10k deductible. It will be going to $500 b/c PPACA mandates features we don't want.

$300/mo w/ $6k deductible for ONE person sounds pricy. I don't believe those numbers.
