Today was the first day of my life that I actually think I felt real depression about living in California. I won't get into the details but there are real problems with the culture in this state. I've seen horrendous violations of basic decency in my work over the past year. I can't get into it, but I am regularly reminded that we, out here, are barely above a Nazi state of mind. These new laws being signed almost every week really seem to be the work of a truly demented person. I've got a few more years and I'll be able to get out and start over. Can't wait...

I would like to see one state that contains no people that voted for hillary. It would be refreshing. I am in Nevada now, but its been overrun by hillary supporters and lost its independent thinking by and large. I just try to stay out of the fray. Utah might be next for me, particularly if an EMP is delivered on us by NoKorea or Iran.

I've been looking at real estate in Nevada. I have family there. I like it. But...I'm not totally sold. And, due to the meltdown of California the real estate in Nevada is climbing in price faster than I've ever seen happen (and I've seen some doosies).

Real estate prices peaked in 2007 or so, dropped down to what they were in 2001 and then very slowly climbed back up somewhat. Its still cheaper here than California. The chinese have been buying up real estate in LV which has driven up prices.

The more disturbing thing is the influx of the hillary people FROM california. Its changed the culture here from wild west independence more to politically correct nonsense. Nevada went for Hillary in 2016.

So far, taxes have been kept lower than they normally would be in a hillary state. There is no income tax, no corporate income tax (but there is a small gross receipts tax which will of course grow in the future). Business regulation has grown to the point you cant open ANY business until you get a business license, and those are only given for approved types of business.

The swamp fought to keep uber and lyft out, but they finally lost. They are trying to keep airbnb out, and have lost in some areas, but gained in others. The casinos get what they want here of course. They get to have big fountains, but small business cannot have water features over a few square feet, and lawn watering is only permitted on "approved" days.

I got out of California the last time he was governor ('75-'83), leaving the state in 1977. It seems the whole left coast has been following suit with his policy positions even since then. How could they reelect him again so many years later, are they completely wacko? I also notice how "they" pass this kind of legislation then deny that it will it do what it specifically states that it can, jail and/or fines. Even worse, it's so obvious these vaguely interpreted laws go into effect so “they” can determine when, where, and who actually gets prosecuted (the right), and who gets a free pass (the left). There are many, many, examples under the previous presidential administration. It's just another in your face attack on the Constitution, and it’s again all based on getting votes and the power to control. Now that our justice system has been so thoroughly infiltrated we seem to be completely confused as to how to actually fix anything.

The media, the stars, the elite athletes, and the comedians control the thoughts of those that have little ability to actually form an opinion on their own. I think the people that are behind Trumps policies need to come out of the closet, so to speak. Or will we just wait until the next presidential election to express our opinions and find out how many others silently agree with us? I'm feeling that just getting out is no longer enough, soon we could be looking forward to getting out of the USA. We’ve got enough examples growing around the world. Then again, where could we go? My excuse is that I’ll be leaving soon enough anyway, and not just from some state or the country. And, I’m starting to understand His reason for taking us away.

I’ve got a lot more to say, but for now I’ll spare you my ignorance and current lack of political enthusiasm. I’m going fishing, right after lunch, perhaps, but only if I still feel like it, maybe I’ll even take nap (not true, never do, the nap part, at least not yet).

Being very old, I can only describe my gender as a highly modified minimal usage sexual being. Frankly, my wife and I would rather read a good book. We are Transelder sex. You may refer to us as Oldtrans. Be sure to get it right or we'll visit you in Jail. We are the 5th sex, helping America by keeping the libraries open.

Jerry Brown and the legislators in CA are idiots. They deserve to be in a state that will ULTIMATELY go down the tubes, as it should.

One of the assembly members is a neighbor of mine - and knows of me pretty well. We chat once in a while. I saw that he has voted "yea" on all of these crazy recent bills.

It's all over in California. The beautiful state where I grew up is all gone now...

Appears that liberalism is a CONTAGIOUS mental disorder.
I once caught it myself. But at least I was a youngster exposed to the late 60s.

Objectivism and true Libertarianism (maybe a little Anarchism) are very effective immunizations against liberalism. It forces you to always look at the first premise. That kills liberalism every time.

I think I am now completely frightened to EVER go back to California... and I was raised there! I love it, but it's gone completely insane! Not only can you get HIV from someone (whether sexual, or God forbid you get sick and need blood!) now you can go to jail for using wrong pronoun. it's utterly ridiculous! I wish them luck and all the best in their Secession endevours and I hope they leave and the USA doesn't have to put up with them anymore.... I love my friends there, but this is getting infectious and frightening.

AS I remember, you can get HIV from people that dont know they have it too. How would that ever be proven that you "knew it" and didnt tell anyway.

Oh, me, oh, my, oh, you! Whatever should I do? Hallelujah!
Tried to find that silly old song on YouTube but don't know the title.
If it's banned for hate speech, newer pronoun hate speech has replaced it.

Does Your Chewing Gum Lose It's Flavor
                  Lonnie Donegan
                  Lyrics
Oh me oh my oh you
                  Whatever shall I do?
                  Hallelujah,
                  The question is peculiar
I'd give a lot of dough
                  If only I could know
                  The answer to my question
Is it yes or is it no?
Does your chewing gum lose its flavor
                  on the bedpost overnight?
If your mother says don't chew it,
Do you swallow it in spite?
Can you catch it on your tonsils,
Can you heave it left & right?
Does your chewing gum lose its flavor
                  on the bedpost overnight?
                  Here comes a blushing bride
The groom is by her side
                  Up to the altar,
                  Just as steady as Gibraltar
The groom has got the ring
And it's such a pretty thing
But as he slips it on her finger
                  The choir begins to sing:
Does your chewing gum lose its flavor
                  on the bedpost overnight?
If your mother says don't chew it,
Do you swallow it in spite?
Can you catch it on your tonsils,
Can you heave it left & right?
Does your chewing gum lose its flavor
                  on the bedpost overnight?
Now the nation rise as one
                  To send their wanted son
Up to the White House, yes,
                  The nation's only White House
                  To voice their discontent
                  Unto the Pres-I-dent
                  The bonny burning question,
                  What has swept this continent?
If tin whistles are made of tin,
What do they make fog horns out of?
                  Boom boom
Does your chewing gum lose its flavor
                  On the bedpost overnight?
If your mother says don't chew it,
Do you swallow it in spite?
Can you catch it on your tonsils,
Can you heave it left & right?
Does your chewing gum lose its flavor
                  On the bedpost overnight?
                  On the bedpost overnight
                  Hello there,
                  I love you and
The one who holds you tight!
                  Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,
                  Thursday, Friday, Sat'day night
                  On the bedpost overnight
                  A dollar is a dollar & a dime is a dime!
                  He'd sing another chorus
But he hasn't got the time
                  On the bedpost overnight, yeah!

Thanks, Dob! All I remembered was the snippet with the illegal (so sayeth the Moonbean) pronouns in it.
Chewing gum losing its flavor on a bedpost had completely fled my memory banks.

The crazier they get, there's more hope that they are waking people up. I know the rest of the country has become "woke" to the leftie craziness. (I hate that term "woke", but it seems to fit the stupidity of leftist followers who start to see the impact on their own lives)

California will probably take a bit longer, however, because it is the state of "fantasy". A lot of its residents/voters work and live quite well in the production centers of that state of mind.

I still have hope. I don't know why. Maybe because I am stuck here for another couple of years. :-)

The law is to threaten, and intimidate those who do not buy into the transgender religion. This is what the left does, if it cannot get its way, it makes empty threats that get defeated in court...then they try again. They are pathetic whimps with empty lives that must harrass others.

Oh by the way the HIV freak heshe in room 15 wants a sponge bath oh yes heshe cuts themselves habitually.

I am single and employed, claiming zero exemptions. I will "spend" 40 percent of my income on insurance (ObamaCare), social security (bankrupt), and income taxes (IRS) this year. With sales tax, tobacco tax, gasoline tax, etc., I calculate an additional 9 percent. 49 percent in order to be jailed or penalized for calling someone by the wrong gender pronoun, to use plastic bags (certain cities), to let a dog pursue a bear or bobcat, to throw a frisbee without permission from a lifeguard (LA), to wear a zoot suit (LA), to bother a lizard (Fresno), to cross dress (Walnut), to wear a Halloween mask without permission from a sheriff (Walnut), or to let my vehicle go over 60mph without a driver. And if I didn't pay for this, my wages would be garnished and my means of getting to work would be seized.

Well, the bad news is that California has more debt than any other state in the country. The good news, Abaco, is that Sacramento has no idea WTF its doing. The California government will continue pushing tech companies to Portland, Phoenix, Austin, overseas, etc. until a conservative President crushes the flow of cash to Pelosi et al. But I won't judge if you get out of California and move to Dodge.

Just when I think i've seen it all...the left comes up with something which totally amazes me in its ridiculousness.
"Wrong gender pronoun" usage is getting the attention it deserves, as an illustration of how far down the rabbit hole the left has gone.
Pumping sunshine to them will not help, only a complete excavation of the hole will remedy the situation. Probably when the folks who still have some common sense remaining finally leave the area and total chaos breaks out.
Are there no real thinking folks left on the left coast? I think there may not be.

Their Primacy of Consciousness has made objectivity illegal.

"The sponsor, Democratic state Sen. Scott Wiener, has argued adamantly that nobody is going to be criminally prosecuted for using the wrong pronoun. "

Then why put it into law? As a way to intimidate people? To have something else to "get" people on when they do something else they don't like ("innocent people can't be controlled Mr. Rearden")? To add to the "seriousness of the crime" for other indictments, ensuring extreme punishment for 'hate speech' in a package deal?
