Mr Ramirez is a very talented cartoonist. I enjoy his daily submissions on Creators.com.

We have a new court jester: he is called our President. The laughing stock in the world. The problem is he is doing exactly what he planned to do; turn America from a world leader to just another third world country.

Perfect. He turns and repeats, repeats what now my dear leader. Teleprompter swings to his leader and he repeats "was it 57 or 58 states".

I met Ramirez at one of the way past San Diego Comic-Cons. (I used to publish comic books.) Very astute guy. Very talented.

The great kings of past empires kept court jesters for a reason. They were the only ones in the realm who could 'tell the truth' about politics without being imprisoned for treason because they did it in jest. The only way the king could really tell how popular he was or the truth of what was happening in his kingdom was through satire, because everyone else would only tell him what he wanted to hear. If only our current king had such wisdom.

That IS what makes them funny. Seeing the world from their perspective. I still mourn the ending of The Far Side cartoons.

Political cartoons could be very funny if they weren't so true.

That, of course, was right out of Floyd Ferris' playbook. Do you recall him threatening the spectacle of cannibalism, or selective executions?

John Galt told him what we should tell the Obamas, and the Islamic Resistance Movements, with whom we have to deal:

"Listen, you blackguards. Look at me, then look in the mirror. Then ask yourselves whether I could ever think that MY moral stature is at the mercy of YOUR actions."
