Hmmm, is this evidence of a self-draining swamp? That is, better to resign while making a left wing extremist statement that gets left stream media praise than to actually get fired for being a left wing extremist spy in the Trump administration.

There is nothing that can be done or said by or for
Donald Trump that his detractors will not spin in the worst possible light. Trying to rebut anything they say is just a waste of energy so a standard response needs to be coined that can be used on all occasions. It would mean who cares what you have to say, where do you get your facts, that is a ridiculous interpretation and you have s**t for brains! Maybe that is the nonsense word that he tweeted that day that had them all agog for a week.

While I agree they spin everything, they really have not justified a direction or position on anything he should have done or said about anything to actually express any facts at all. And I agree it's a waste of time to argue with them, they do not have the ability or skill to actually have a conversation, but it's fun trying some times.

"They cited his response to white supremacist violence in Charlottesville, the country's withdrawal from the Paris Agreement on climate change, and the vulnerability of the US election process. "

That has nothing to do with cyber security...this is clearly a political statement.

Where were these assholes when Hillary was running a private server in violation of any common sense at all and the law?

Anyone who uses Trump's response to the two sided violence in Charlottesville is just using that as an excuse for some other hidden agenda. There was nothing wrong with Trump's response. It takes two to tango, and both sides were engaged in violence. Both sides were entitled to express their ideas, but neither was entitled to engage in violence.

As to the issue, we should NOT try to rewrite history. Erasing history means we cant learn from it, and that isnt good.

Perhaps it would be best if all of those establishment people quit, perhaps Trump has his own plan and is forcing them out. We do need to start so much of our government with with a clean slate and fully weed out the establishment. Hopefully the extreme rhetoric from the left will help weed some more establishment on both sides from our government in the next election. That election should determine our direction.

Last night a lady friend (retired 'stewardess' that flew my brothers in and out of Vietnam around the years I was there), in a local restaurant was complaining about Trump's reaction to North Korea's missile shot over Japan. She complained Trump did nothing. She told the group, Trump is all talk and can't even keep his promises, he does absolutely nothing.' I had to ask her,What would Obama have done?' I got only a grunt, no answer. I acted puzzled and asked her very sincerely, What would you have done?' Again a grunt, no answer. I asked her,What should Trump have done?'. You can guess, again no answer. I asked her, 'How can you complain about something you disagree with, yet express or justify no reason to disagree?' I said, 'It's like spanking your children but not telling them why". She could only make more little huffy sounds, so I said, "I'm really sorry, I want to apologize for dropping these difficult questions on you." I said, `Perhaps you could take your time, absolutely no rush, please do a little research for some answers to my questions and get back to me next week, then maybe I'll understand what you're so upset with Trump about. Immediately the subject changed. The group acted embarrassed for her and changed the subject. Hopefully she will return to our group, or my even listening and responding to her will have been a total waste of my time and a friend. In any case, if she shows up, I'll ask her if she found any answers. Maybe this exchange might have an effect on her political outlook, maybe not, actually I doubt it but it's fun trying.

      Thanks NealS ,
      Great story!
I have had discussions with folks who don't know anything about a topic but already have firm established beliefs. They become very frustrated when talking to an informed individual with a different opinion. Oh well , like you suggested get informed.

"They cited his response to white supremacist violence in Charlottesville, the country's withdrawal from the Paris Agreement on climate change, and the vulnerability of the US election process." What a bunch of crap. This is plain and simple a political statement!
