is a tax on substantial dividend/interest income, to be
totally transparent);;; we have decent people and a
respect for the constitution, some good schools and
an occasional decent politician ... and we have some
nice parks like the smokies! we share fort campbell
with ky; we build cars and refrigerators and tanker trucks
and weekends (john daniels -- remember "scent
of a woman"?)! we have lakes and cheap power
and lots of right-to-work jobs.

However the State business climate has turned colder as the Democrats have overspent revenues since 2008. Much like Washington in that respect, although on a couple of orders of magnitude smaller scale.

I hope they stick around, but if the business climate keeps going this way long enough, they will leave too.

How very intelligent of Baretta. Moving out of a hostile environment to a friendly one is just common sense. It should set a good example to other manufacturers to move away from areas that are hostile to them. Why pay taxes to the enemy?
As an aside, one of my firearms is a Baretta 32 cal. semi-auto. A sweet little gun for pocket or purse.

It’s all hype. The founding fathers had their reason for not permitting representation within the boundaries of the city. If Obama was serious about the city representing itself he wouldn’t have derailed DC’s charter school program upon taking office.

It is not just about guns, my state and many other ultra liberal states have driven company's out with regulation and taxation. I am waiting for them to push Smith and Wesson out there go more jobs.

I love it when businesses speak with their pocketbooks. If only the States were unencumbered with all the Federal laws, we could see the theater of economic ideas play out in its full majesty (or disgrace) on 50 stages across the nation. Let each state test the ideals they think will work and let all take notice and adopt or reject as they see fit.

With the current "state" of affairs, you can have a state like California that drags down the rest of us. :(

I have seen those license plates for both MD and DC. The idea that DC has taxation without representation is a joke. They have at least ten times as much representation as any state, and probably more like 100 times.
