Hmmm. If DC became a state, wouldn't all those politicos who own residences in DC then become residents of the state of DC rather than the state they profess to represent? I'd also include Maryland and Virginia in that scenario. So many of these people don't even live in the state they represent.

As another thought. How about just erecting barracks for the politicos to live in. A big common room could to used to host all the lobbyists.

You can get War of 1812 license plates. It’s the proximity to DC. The closer you get to the city the more dense the population and the more likely that populace will lean Left: government workers.
Speaking of DC, Obama has been making remarks lately that he wants to push for statehood for DC . It’s a fundraising gimmick.
He changed his license plates for the 2012 election: “Taxation without Representation” He spoke as if he was promising statehood when he ran for office in 2008.

There are sinkholes, but there is plenty of land that is structurally sound enough around here. The drainage in my part of Florida is amazing. During Tropical Storm Fay several years ago, we got 27 inches of rain in 2.5 days. There was standing water in the back of my yard, but nothing close to anywhere else I have ever lived.

For some reason, Maryland doesn't like weapons as much as it did in the War of 1812.

Rats! A small gun manufacturer had already moved to my county from CT, and I thought we were going to get Beretta, too.

I know, I know. I live in Maryland. Nothing will change with so many government workers residing in the state.
I thought of moving because of gun laws,
    Yup. Good for them!
