In short order the rest of the country would look like Detroit or DC while those states where the producers moved would be like Co just after the JGL was finished being rebuilt.

But don't forget what happened to Colorado in AS.

For while my kids were in school (only two more years for my youngest), it was a pretty decent trade.

    Dear Fred,

I had already noted that FL has no property taxes further above and then was criticized about the not too high property taxes (at least where I am).

I think everyone with a double digit I.Q. should be required to carry a gun there would be a lot less crime and soon a population reduction.

That really is a handsome weapon, and my favorite "type" to boot.

1911s have been my favorite sidearm for decades.

Hey, Jim - $250 is still pretty oppressive if it's not for something to which I attribute any value.

my wife and I spent a delightful weekend in chattanooga
a few months ago -- did the full round of fun at the
aquarium, including the boat ride and the butterfly
room -- and ate at the wonderful choo-choo restaurant,
followed by a coach ride around town in a real
    horse-drawn carriage ... it was fine!!! -- j

    Re: jbrenner,

It's important to point out to people that the savings of not having a Florida income tax needs to be considered in the equation. True, property tax may be a little higher is some florida counties, but when considered in the entire net income, florida, Texas and all the othe non-income tax states are preferable to many people.

I do deserve better, but this is probably the best I will be able to get until I build Atlantis.

Try to imagine a world with people taught to think rationally instead of being hit over the head until they obey.
That is what those taxes do to the society and to liberty. Drones who don't imagine a life above their assigned caste.

Back then, when dollars were worth a lot more, $250/month was oppressive. Other than government schools, my county doesn't spend much on other items. It is mildly annoying like the humidity of a 90 degree day, rather than so oppressive that I actively complain about it.

Not to disagree with your point, but I remember a time when $250 a month for taxes were thought as oppressive ... and I still think so.
Most of that is wasted on government propaganda indoctrination centers for the youth to assure that the system never changes. It's taking by force, theft.
    You deserve better.

In Florida property taxes are highly variable. I have quite a nice home and only pay $3000 per year in property taxes. The millage rates in Florida are not all that variable, but home prices sure are. If my house was in Ft. Lauderdale would cost over twice as much.

Then they shaft them all with insanely high property taxes, the "mortgage that is never paid off."
Oh, but it's "for the children."
