Is it time yet to take our lives back? How, vote, fight, or leave?

"“What the government is good at is collecting taxes, taking away your freedoms and killing people. It’s not good at much else.” —Author Tom Clancy
Call it what you will—taxes, penalties, fees, fines, regulations, tariffs, tickets, permits, surcharges, tolls, asset forfeitures, foreclosures, etc.—but the only word that truly describes the constant bilking of the American taxpayer by the government and its corporate partners is theft.

We’re operating in a topsy-turvy Sherwood Forest where instead of Robin Hood and his merry band of thieves stealing from the rich to feed the poor, you’ve got the government and its merry band of corporate thieves stealing from the poor to fatten the wallets of the rich. In this way, the poor get poorer and the rich get richer. All the while, the American Dream of peace, prosperity, and liberty has turned into a nightmare of endless wars, debilitating debt, and outright tyranny.

What Americans don’t seem to comprehend is that if the government can arbitrarily take away your property, without your having much say about it, you have no true rights. You’re nothing more than a serf or a slave."

When going over the DOI it appears to this bonehead that the main purpose of the State is to protect individual rights...yet what is amazing, IMHO is that the State has never done its job from day 1. From July 5th, 1776 to today, the State has on everyone of these days allowed someone's rights to be violated.
I like that quote, the only thing the beast is good at is taxing, taking rights and killing.
    Clancy nailed it!

Hey it's practically Friday...have some fun!

Progressively, theft is not theft if it is social theft. It had been renamed to redistribution "for a greater good." It's not call a progressive tax system for nothing.
Back to reality, A is A. Theft is Theft.

At this rate, one day we will have only two choices. (a) Accept the total social authority of the world government, or (b) leave the planet.

Indeed, you are correct, Zenphamy. I am ready to leave now. The article just reiterates what was said by Griffin in The Creature of Jekyll Island.

We're having another discussion on a previous post by khalling about the changes in language that are being pushed by progressive socialists in this country that leads to exactly what you're asking. 'Why do so many people resist the obviously correct terminology'? They're being taught to, by having the basics of communication and language confused purposely in order to introduce changes they wouldn't otherwise agree with.

But the point of the article jbrenner is that the government through the institutions of cops, courts, and taxes puts you into debt without your consent of cooperation. So it looks like your options boil down to 'b) leave'.

Hear, Hear actually it is SLAVERY but theft is a good second.

I am sure you know the original story of Robin Hood was he stole from the government (crown) and gave it back to the people (taxpayers).

Two things I can't figure out. Why, when what the government does is theft, do so many people resist the obviously correct terminology? If the government is engaged in systematic theft, then it is organized crime, and has been for a long time. We are in fact serfs (actually, serfs only were forced to turn over a quarter of what they produced) or slaves. Until people see the situation for what it is, I don't think real change is possible.

It's not theft. It's ... banking, er, theft.

The solutions are to a) not go into debt and/or b) leave.
