What to do with old high school yearbooks?

Ok, so I'm going through stuff and am getting tired of carrying around the old high school yearbooks. I'm thinking I'll keep one, and get rid of the rest. Throwing them out seems not right, & obviously donating them seems stupid too, since some of them have personal messages. So, I'm at a impasse. I'd like to know what fellow Gulchers have done with their old yearbooks & perhaps get an idea on how to solve my conundrum. Thanks.

Hmmm. That's seems like a great idea. I think I may reach out to the old HS & see if they're taking any from the mid-80's? They're a bit heavy, cumbersome & other than one of them, I don't want the others. One of them, will have to be destroyed though...personal stuff you know?

I once sold a high school year book on eBay. Not my own and it didn't have any writing in it, but I know others sell yearbooks too. If you happened to go to school with anyone who later became famous that helps the value. :) Personally I wouldn't get rid of my own, unless maybe I moved a lot or something. I have my grandma's yearbooks even. But I have a thing for books anyway.

consider having them scanned and put on a disk. There are companies (mostly in India) that do this fairly cheaply. They will send the books back or not-depending on your choice. We did that with alot of our pictures when we decided to move about. Also, if you just don't care to keep them for sentimental value, consider donating back to your HS. When I was in charge of putting together a program for my son's state winning tennis team, luckily there were tons of old yearbooks the HS had in their library. It was really fun including not only old pictures but the messages people wrote near the pictures of tennis players. They had some going back to the teens. I was glad the HS saved them.
