It's time: Eudaimonia

There's a certain gulch user who pops up from time to time, and to be completely blunt, I've had it up to my gills with him.

I am speaking, of course, of Eudaimonia.

I often wonder what kind of a poor impression he gives to people who are new to the site.

This concern is well founded as has been made plain by at least one other gulcher:

**** Eudaimonia has no regard for civil rights :

When McD's came out with that campaign, I would often respond to it, "I'm heavin' it!"
Nothing against their product, I just didn't like the campaign.

Of course. Expecting you to support the idea of equal rights would just be too much...

****Eudaimonia cites, knowingly or not, sources linked to infamous white supremacist David Horowitz - leaving no other option but to conclude he is either: stupid, racist, or both.

And you've used sources which were likely fronts for white supremacist groups, though you didn't realize it.

Wow, I just got back from grocery shopping to find this.
I'm really interested in what these source are which you refer to.

I don't remember what the name of the site was, as it was a while ago, but it was that one page which you linked to accusing the Southern Poverty Law Center of being a hate group. The site never openly revealed itself as such, but the attitude and political stances it advocated just absolutely stunk of white supremacy in nearly every sentence.

That site was discoverthenetworks.com
Discover The Networks is one of many sites founded and run by David Horowitz.
Mr. Horowitz would find your assertion that he fronts for white supremacists to be... amusing.

Just read through a few of the article there, and from that my belief that David Horowitz advocates white supremacy is only strengthened.

Then I suggest you take it up with Mr. Horowitz.
You can contact him either here
http://www.discoverthenetworks.com/conta......
or here
http://www.frontpagemag.com/contact-us/
And, *please* do post your emails with him here.
I've got a lot more popcorn.

------

If you too, have had enough... it's time - here's your chance to sound off.

    Awww. Someone needs a hug.
    What creative minds need:
"The basic need of the creator is independence. The reasoning mind cannot work under any form of compulsion. It cannot be curbed, sacrificed, or subordinated to any consideration whatsoever. It demands total independence in function and motive." -- Ayn Rand

I personally like a free for all. It it bugs you then ignore him or expose his falsehood and just move on.

The purpose of the site is to promote the Ayn Rand philosophy which in all honesty seldom do any of you do.

"It has to come from a mandate from the masses - not some farcical aquatic ceremony."

    Gotta love MP.

Ah yes, the *point* of the satire, that the troll and provocateur known as Maphesdus is here to sow discord, to pester, and to impugn members of this forum as bigots.
    +1
    Good job, Stru.

AHA!!! I bet DHS already has you on your radar. Next thing, you'll be denouncing ketchup as not being a vegetable, and praising the mandatory "juice-and-fruit-only" vending machine policies in schools, factory lunchrooms, and transportation hubs.

Old, obsolete, filled with old fashioned ideas and morality. Out of touch and out of time. Every idea full of cobwebs. This guy Herb is so old fashioned that he believes in marriage. Hopeless.

Naaaaah... it'd be way more fun to do it myself. With an iron fist alternating between the "delete thread" button and "ban member's IP" button...
(and you wonder why I'm a fan of Ragnar? Bwaah hah hah hah...)

OK, I actually *am* a moderator on a couple other lists... and have that evil authority... but find I don't use it as much as I probably should. In VERY short order, I found being a Moderator is (seriously) not all it's cracked up to be - you get a lot of complaints, you're constantly busy killing spam, and dealing with such complaints. Really a headache, and takes a lot of the fun out of participating.

The member a moderator has to use the most moderation on is... usually themselves, to keep the freedom of speech alive and well. I have a lot of respect for SD and the rest of the red-iconed ones, as it's a lot like herding kittens.

An interesting exchange above: "infamous white supremacist David Horowitz" -- well, let's see -- his parents were card-carrying communists, he grew up as a communist, and all that was quite fine. Then, he actually grew up, got educated, in school and in life, and realized that communism, socialism and fascism are the same forms of tyranny. Furthermore, he spoke and wrote of his "discovery." Now, that is where he crossed the line and became a traitor that was a threat to the Party. Destroyed he must be, using any means possible or impossible - white supremacist, racist, the usual cocktail of poison... Maphesdus, since you brought this trash to a site that prides in using facts and logic, could you please back up your statement with facts?

    CROWD: A witch! A witch! A witch! We've got a witch! A witch!
VILLAGER #1: We have found a witch, might we burn her?
    CROWD: Burn her! Burn!
BEDEMIR: How do you know she is a witch?
VILLAGER #2: She looks like one.
    BEDEMIR: Bring her forward.
    WITCH: I'm not a witch. I'm not a witch.
BEDEMIR: But you are dressed as one.
WITCH: They dressed me up like this.
    CROWD: No, we didn't... no.
WITCH: And this isn't my nose, it's a false one.
    BEDEMIR: Well?
VILLAGER #1: Well, we did do the nose.
    BEDEMIR: The nose?
VILLAGER #1: And the hat -- but she is a witch!
CROWD: Burn her! Witch! Witch! Burn her!
BEDEMIR: Did you dress her up like this?
CROWD: No, no... no ... yes. Yes, yes, a bit, a bit.
VILLAGER #1: She has got a wart.
BEDEMIR: What makes you think she is a witch?
VILLAGER #3: Well, she turned me into a newt.
    BEDEMIR: A newt?
    VILLAGER #3: I got better.

Perhaps we should rename this post as "Masochism".

I know that most people here are not going to get this, but here goes anyway.

I'm reminded of the Jerky Boys call where Frank Rizzo calls a security company complaining that he needs some security.
Sometimes he "throws [him]self a really good beatin'," and he needs someone to help keep him in line.
    Classic Jerky Boys.

Sorry, I'll hide my posts now.
