I think this would be a good thing, in that you may have a better chance of getting some control over the legislature than the damn huge political machine. It also makes it a lot harder to the huge money interests and PACs as states have a lot more control over who funds what. Seems it would make it harder to buy a party, when you have to go buy a bunch of legislatures.

It seems easier to buy off legislatures than the people. I don't see why different people doing the voting means less special interest influence.

The Republicans need to get their act together and bring up some Obamacare legislation for a Senate vote that will split the Democrats' unified front. How about an up-and-down vote on simply repealing the individual mandate? I would love to see the Dems and RINOs try to explain a "no" vote to their angry constituents.

Exactly, I have joined their group and contributed what I could to them, as it is better to do that than ever contribute to a political party.

Yep, it seems to be the appropriate description of the whole species, though. Convention of states is all that is left after this debacle.

"What we tried to accomplish for the American people was the right thing for the country," McConnell said early Friday.

Repeal the 16th and don't replace it with anything. Kill all the meddling federal agencies, freebies, and cut military funding by 90% to balance the budget.
Anything short of that will be ineffective in restoring liberty and free markets.

I agree with that too. The founders wanted it that way because the state legislators were selected by the people across the entire state not just the population centers.

Me dino can't see how Huckabee's idea--good ole boys elected by good ole boys?--will achieve anything.
A Convention of States appears to be the only viable solution for draining the swamp of professional politicians and returning government rule to, for and by We The People.

When in the Course of human Events it becomes necessary for one People to kick Looters in their $ka-ching$ tailored pretty pants and to send that Swamp Scum packing . . .
