I kind of like that, thanks :). Question #1 could even be used with younger kids to make them think about who's working behind the scenes and how it's the people who show up to do their job that keeps the wheels turning etc. Thank you for "pondering all day" with me. :) I would love to have more discussion about this in the Gulch.

Honestly, and no offense as these ARE good questions, but I know some adults who wouldn't understand the questions, not what they're REALLY asking anyway. And even if they did REALLY understand they would be annoyed and would rather be having a fluff conversation about something absolutely not important or less thought provoking at least. And something else that just dawned on....I am the least educated of all of my friends, by far, so I'm blown away that they're so uninterested. What gives??

Here's my go, after pondering all day...

1. Where did your last order of french fries come from?
2. Why are all these "things" here... businesses, buildings, cars, roads...
3. What did you do to contribute, today?

I know it will probably make some mad, but they will be the most extreme moochers and looters. I tried to keep it within the realm of what I expect them to have experienced. Perhaps that was my mistake.

But I see the answers as "Someone who woke up this morning and decided to take care of business". IMHO, that is the key decision made by the producers every morning that keeps us all in the standard of living to which we would like to become accustomed!

Three Questions... I like that. How about.
1. Are you responsible enough for FREEDOM?
2. Are you strong enough to be INDEPENDENT?
3 Are you willing to bring in NEW ENERGY?

We are FINE!
FREEDOM! INDEPENDENCE! NEW ENERGY!

that is so true. I think back to when I was still willing to believe we weren't going down the tubes, I kept those friends around and actually gave them some effort. We completely stopped that over a year ago. As well, we are no longer silent when we hear someone spout off progressive nonsense. Even if they are not worth the trouble, others around them who remain silent may be worth it. I feel (so my logic is taking a pass here maybe) there are many who don't have the answers but know deep down that things are wrong and are just clueless as to how to fix things. I also think there are people who have a vague sense that things are bad but live in the moment and don't take the time to figure out why or how they can effect change. This is where you can come in. Calmly and rationally telling it like it is and providing a plan for those who could act who just don't know how. It's hard to not just shake these people or destroy their MSNBC spouting TVs in order to have that conversation, but I'm not going to miss an opportunity-even in another language to do it. We don't live where we could see Atlas Shrugged II. But we bought tickets and gave them to family and some friends who are in their teens in Colorado to go see it. I was impressed with some, not all, of their reactions. We no longer do the Christmas gift thing, but the first movie makes a great stocking stuffer!

I love that certain people dismiss the truth by calling it "scary"...cuz if its "scary" it can't be true. It should fear for more than just the "safety" of what used to be "our great nation". Safety AND freedom, come with a cost...and sometimes that cost is a wee bit scary for those of the squeamish and/or weak persuasion. WAKE --- UP PEOPLE!!!

Good points. The tax increase has crossed my mind too. As for the books.... again, getting people interested in reading them, because they aren't on the New York's best seller list (and don't begin with the words "Fifty Shades of...") they turn their noses up. They'd rather read (and watch) substanceless fluff than anything that might make them think and explore or acknowledge any truth that might be uncomfortable. If I see or hear an opportunity that I can address then I will do it, but it usually has a disappointing end. At least so far it has. And I have completely given up on a few people in my life that are totally shut off and if i never even speak to or see them again I'll be glad about it. Some just aren't worth the effort, even if at first you think they are.

I think there are two places to start. After the first of the year, they will see more money taken from their first "real job" or their part-time job and that will make them angry. They will also feel unsettled due to bleak economic conditions and their job opportunities will be slim.
Second, I think it's always a conversation starter to bring up outrageous acts by government officials, like police brutality and say the TSA incidents. Everyone who isn't in on the "design" of government control is angry when they hear about it. Once the outrage is there in the discussion, it's a good time to bring up the books.

I'm not talking about people who have half a clue, I'm referring to those you have NO idea and asking them who John Galt is would be the same as asking them who (insert any name you wish) because they know nothing. I know you were being humorous (because that was the obvious question to ask), but this is something I've pondered repeatedly and come up empty every time. :( There's many layers of thinking to get to this point and that is too much work for most people. Which frustrates me to no end.

That is the intention. Your side is well represented on the internet. So people like us need a place that represents our thoughts as well, and the left doesn't have it. I'd be happy to abandon roads paved by a bunch of government workers. Give me a flying car.

I wonder what would be thee best questions to ask a young person (or any person) that would grab their attention enough to make them realize there is more going on than what meets the eye and that it WILL have an affect on their futures. (A very negative affect in fact.) What one sentence could accomplish that? I feel like the layers of information, and the pieces of the puzzle that need to be put together to see the truth clearly could fill volumes and days and people have such short attention spans and lack of interest that getting them into any kind of gripping conversation is nearly impossible and quite possibly hopeless I fear. Any good ideas out there?

I'm with you 100%. This is very serious! It starts by asking the questions that they can't answer because they are up to no good.

This is serious. They are corrupting the minds of our youth. We must organize and tell the truth. We must teach the young about the power of freedom and independence.
