So, this is a fine line issue, and also raises questions regarding your privacy and also peoples sense of greed. True, there is TANSTAAFL, and what I see is this is actually much darke, if this company is just a front to perfect new techniques and to open doors to a cyberwar weapon. Imagine being able to drop a bomb on 250 million computers worldwide. a lot of them in supposed "secure" corporate systems. We just went through the Wannacry meltdown, and that was user inflicted. This is a lot more sinister.

Not always. If I knew for sure who was behind an attack that did serious damage, I'd send a squad of cops to arrest them, or Marines to blow them to hell. But I'd rather hold off than take a chance of attacking the wrong target, because otherwise it's trivially easy for somebody to separate us from our real friends by a false-flag attack.

You know me on religion, islam or any other invisible friends. All bad. The different with islam might be, as you note, it IS inherently integrated with government, which is wholly unacceptable.

I am not a Islam scholar. But it looks to me just from my unscholarly readings that Islam is a political philosophy with the motivational trappings of a religion. The religion part does two things. It motivates persons to do things that under any other set of rules would be deemed irrational, and it is a cover allowing certain actions that would otherwise not be tolerated. Rand cautions about the mystic and the Hun. In Islam, you have them combined in one entity.

I was wondering if you thought I was being too "guilty until proven innocent". At this point, it is clear that islam is not just a religion, and we can not simultaneously police against their little acts of vandalism (not trying to belittle those who have suffered, but from a military standpoint, they are simply an annoyance). There is no way you can tell me they can not police their own ranks. They know who the bad guys are. If they won't, they are part of the problem.

Well, the issue is when you know people will, or may, (with good info) you either take preventative steps or stand there and say "sorry" afters. England is not doing so well at stopping the loons.

I make lots of comments here that I won't act on. I don't want the feds to assume people are going to act and lock them up on suspicion of a crime yet to be committed. Freedom for all entails some risks to the innocent to protect their rights. I agree that vetting immigrants (and "temporary" visitors) and using that information to protect the sovereign people is a step that should be taken.

Jan, the NSA creates lots and lots of tool for their very own use, and it was one of 6 of them that was leaked from them, and tried to be sold on the dark web, failed, and then was openly posted, and a few weeks later, wannacry came out. They do have the ability to track and identify anyone, for anything, when they want. The sheer number of attacks that go untracked, and unpunished is why they keep doing it, sort of like street robbery, until you have enough cops on the street, it will go on. You can board up your windows, and lock your doors, but sometimes they still break in. Thats when you need your own shotgun. Some techy needs to develop a nuke package that can deliver itself back to the criminals, and explode in their own system and put up a mushroom cloud on their screens with "You're Dead".

3 Of the recent attacks in England were by people know to British Intelligence...so why wait until they kill people to do anything? I would think they have a problem applying western legal and moral ethics to people who do not think that way. Sort of like training to deal with aliens when they show up....

That's not what I mean. I mean Muslim countries and/or groups. Demonstrate you will police your own ranks, or we will assume you are complacent.

Suspected possible terrorists should be made to wear an ankle bracelet so they'll know where they're at at all times.
