Subsidies just for those we want...

This one will probably end up in the Supreme Court as well, but if you read the statute as passed by Congress, the Appeals Court made the most accurate reading. Congress did not approve of the subsidies for a federally-run exchange.

    I think you hit the nail on the head in the first sentence: people (read liberals) don't understand insurance. Just like they don't understand taxes, economics, foreign policy, etc.

    The problem is most people don't understand insurance. Someone has to pay the premium and the less you pay the less you get. the O administration thought the states would just comply

    The subsidies were intended as a bribe to get the states to buy in.
