A great app for my fellow geeks
In my previous life I was an engineer in the aerospace industry. Mostly, I worked in aircraft. But, I did play a role in a couple satellites. I always got a sense of joy when I'd happen to catch a glimpse of a satellite passing over. I recently found this app and have found it to work really well. It has became a nightly ritual at our place. I'll see when a viewing is supposed to start, set my alarm for a minute before and we'll go out and sit on the tailgate of my truck. Makes for a few minutes of nice family time, too. We are learning about how the view is affected by the angles, placement in relation to the sun, etc. It's really neat. I like to look up each piece of equipment before we view it to see a photo of it and check out its history.
