The planet is cooling and that hot spot (Antarctica) can not avoid it. An Allosaurus would not find it a favorable.

The Sun is the culprit. GSM or Grand Solar Minimum the current sun cycle. Interaction with the suns electro-magnetic activity strengthens or weakens the Earths magnetosphere .Low sun activity means weak shield.

Earths Magnetic Field Is Weakening 10 Times Faster Now 7/8/2014

Feb 9, 2017 ,How Scientists Are Tracking the Dangerous Weakening of Earth's Magnetic Shield

The magnetosphere is the region that surrounds a planet and the magnetic field of that planet, in which charged particles are trapped.
A weaker magnetosphere can't trap all they cosmic rays. At 18,000 to 23,000 feet in the atmosphere cosmic rays create clouds that cool the earth. This is the start of a GSM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1blsE...

A movie I saw when I was 10-years-old would take exception to what you say an Allosaurus would find favorable.

As far as that movie is concerned, I take exception to fighting "stegosauri" lizards. Where's at least the tail spikes?

You Tube offers several full length clipped screen versions.
          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aA8A0...
Appears that a full screen version was removed due to the copyright the not everyone enforces with lots and lots of complete movies there.
Netflix can send The Land Unknown/The Deadly Mantis all on one DVD.

I can see you're easy to please. LOL!
Such silly old stuff can be fun, depending on the movie. Some dogs are just too much to take.
Years back, I bought Plan 9 From Outer Space just to laugh at it from time to time. Don't know where I put that. May go look.

Golden Turkey Award winning Plan 9 is a top contender for the worst movie ever made.
Among facts about the flick, poor has-been Bela Lugosi dies as the movie is being made and is replaced by Ed Wood's chiropractor, who covers his face with that leftover Dracula cape.
Not mentioned in #4, that's a shower curtain behind the pilot and to co-pilot.
Not mentioned among the facts is the detective character, who violates gun safety rules by waving his revolver around like someone pointing his hand.

Ed Wood the movie about Plan 9's writer/director starring Johnny Depp was pretty good. On Netflix I gave it 4 out of 5 stars for "I liked it a lot."

I as well liked that one Ed Woods was a quirky dude. The other Depp movies that I have seen
Are the 1st Pirates of the Caribean and Donnie Brasco, Gilbert Grape and Bennie and Joon
Pirates was not good enough to watch the others IMHO. The others were very good. I just remembered another one ,where he was a writer
Who was living in a cabin and had some horror drama directed at him. From those movies I would say he was an excellent actor. His personal life is probably a real struggle like many stars the reality
of the real world is lost in all the entitlement, adoration. Money for nothing ,chicks.....

Edit to add the movie was
                      Secret Window.
Mort Rainey is a author struggling from writer's block and his wife's upcoming divorce, he heads to his remote cabin in upstate New York for solitude until John Shooter, a farmer from Mississippi accuses Mort of plagiarizing his story. Mort does his best to dismiss the claims, until Mort learns how dangerously far John Shooter will go in his journey for retribution.

Back in the seventies there was a plausible explanation for why the climate was cooling, there were major climate cycles and in them minor ones and that at one point they were headed downward, reasonable? Yes! A new ice age was on the way! Then came the idea of polution keeping the suns rays out and opening a hole in the ionosphere allowing heat to escape, again reasonable? Yes! All data collected since accurate weather and climate records had been kept, approximately 100 to 150 years seemed to show this. A reasonable assumption.
The tables turned and the exact same data was used to prove the climate was warming. Wait! We just proved it was cooling. What the heck! The polution that kept the heat out along with cow flatulence was now holding it in by forming greenhouse gasses. I thought greenhouses were good because they helped plants grow, I was skeptical. Then came the computer which was programmed to give the desired results no matter the information fed it, Al Gore selling indulgences for the sin of carbon footprints, his are bigfoot's, and it now was settled science except for the independent scientists not associated with government regulatory agencies or institutions of higher learning (a misnomer) receiving grants as evidenced by the leaked E-mails.
I commend Antarctica for bucking the trend! Over the last few years I have read stories of small tourist cruise vessels being caught in ice that was not supposed to be where it was encountered.
Hollywood jumped into it by making a movie about global warming where New York City froze over?
There was a major snow storm on the day of a climate change conference!
They called it climate 'change' after neither prediction came true. Face it, the climate has changed for millions of years, here in Pennsylvania we find fossils of tropical plants that no longer grow in the tropics. Climate warmers should be given a trip to the beaches of Antarctica, beach towels, sunscreen and umbrellas, warm piña coladas, all will be provided!

Hahaha the libstream is addicted to cheap tragedian stories recycled throughout time. They never improved on the Greek, they just imported the drama. Climate change is none other than the oil magnates taking the part of Xerxes in the minds of the libstream. But then, at the Oscars, the same fools cheer in favor of an Iranian national putting on a false humanitarian show for Arab countries. Come to think of it, that is a tragic comedy after all.

With the government pumping crushed clay and ice pellets into the atmosphere to block sun rays to "cure" global warming, they are going to have an ice age! We should be having blooming flowers blooming in the Midwest, but we are having a week with highs in the 40s and lows in the 30s, frost predicted even. Now I have to go back to looking for plants that will withstand -20-30 degree winters.

For a nice semi-invasive early spring plant with pretty blue flowers which spreads easily by bulbs and lawn mowers and is very difficult to defeat, try Siberian squill which will help cut down on lawn mowing labor by not allowing grass to grow.
Looks like frost tonight here in southern Wisconsin, but nothing out of the ordinary since one is not supposed to plant flowers before Memorial day here near Geneva Lake.

Thanks for the new ground cover idea, I will check it out. We have about three ground covers in various beds, but have not seen Siberian quill. We have buds here in Ohio, and roses read to bloom, but frost coming here too. We know it gets crazy before Mothers' Day, but this is wose than usual this year. A neighbor was mowing yesterday afternoon in a winter coat and winter cap with ear covers! The wind was over 40 mph also.

Here is a good site for pictures of the plant.

          http://gardensenses.blogspot.com/2012...

If you want it, be sure that you do not mow after the short term flowers finish and the fruit berries on the little stalks still hang or you will transfer them to other parts of the lawn. Once it starts establishing, it is nearly impossible to get rid of, besides digging the bulbs, herbicides like Weedbegone(?) do not work.
          The people at

          http://hort.uwex.edu/articles/siberia...

seemed to think that one needs to use Roundup for several applications which will leave nothing and cause a lot of restoration work.
So be careful with the plant.
I accidentally got it mowing a lawn a mile from here where it was growing under a tree on a hill side where grass would not grow. Was pretty in part of my back yard for several years before I started mowing it after the flowers left. Last 3 years has spread to patch in whole yard by the mower.

Thanks for the websites, the flowers are lovely. I had to laugh at the ones which spread outside their area. We have Buterweed in Ohio, which jumped out f the woods behind us and into our yard and the one next door. Masses of yellow flowers, but we are told, noxious to livestock. Guess that is why the farmer sprays for them. Siberian awuill looks like a better plant, and may the the answer to some of our more difficult areas. We have good dirt, rotten dirt, hills, creek, some places too wooded for grass - I am sure it would thrive in some of it, grass doesn't.

When it's no longer called "global warming" but "climate change" instead, whatever the heck the weather does can be blamed on mankind no matter what happens.

Unfortunately, the citizens have to alter their lives, over disruptions and changes to weather which were due to government meddling with nature. When will the environmental nuts wake up to hat fact!

I imagine Big Brother control freaks are licking their chops for all the regulatory opportunities that will be provided by needful citizens coping with a Little Ice Age.
