Someone once said "It's the economy stupid" and as simplistic as that sounds it is pretty much the key to history. The warlords are a problem because their profits come from war, the poppy farmers are a problem because their profits come from drugs. The Taliban is a problem because the power of the leaders comes from ideologically enslaving their followers and killing and stealing from the others. The corrupt politicians are a problem because their profits come from stealing foreign aid and taking from the treasury. The aggressive, the avaricious, the daring types that produce wealth in a capitalist society are the enemies in societies where spoils are obtained bt cronyism, by birth or other means not based on merit.

Trump is a businessman and wants to know how we can employ the doers in a positive endeavor that will benefit everyone. One of the greatest evils in our society is that the smartest, bravest, most aggressive little African-American kid in our cities looks up and sees a teacher with patches on his jacket, every honest elder he knows is poor, mothers moping floors and living in rat infested tenements. Then he sees a drug dealer, not much older than he is, driving in a decked out Encore, wearing a silk suit and a couple of half naked women on his arm. This is what everyone sees in the Middle East, Afghanistan, etc. You can't put them all in prison camps, can't kill them so why not get their talents turned to an enterprise that builds society? The toughest nuts to crack are the religious zealots that have bought into the teachings of the shams pushing Radical Islam but as long as the overall environment is so toxic I don't think they can be turned.
