I'm trapped in the bluest of the blue states. Dems are definitely going to "tax the rich" which will include makers like me.

Considering selling the house ASAP and the California based biz ASAP.
Question: Do you have a recommended place to move to and why?

Obviously must be able to CCW, etc. Thanks!

The CA Libs have trashed NV & CO as well. They leave CA because they can't get jobs, or they retire from their govt. jobs and move from CA because they don't want to pay the taxes that pay for their pensions.

Too bad they don't leave their Lib ideas in Cali.

PS: Maybe the real border that AZ needs to be secured is the border with CA.

Problem with that is those business bring the Cali big gov folks. I was in Phoenix a few years ago for a while and found the Cali influx was changing the city. They don't want the taxes or the regulations but they start demanding the same stuff that killed Cali.

    I never saw Jersey shore...
    I haven't paused on MTV since 1989...
Are you saying there may be a glimmer of hope there?

:) I meant Fairfax, thanks. not just Williams, the department has been solid for decades. I originally thought of going thee for my MBA but I just couldn't make myself do the east coast-too many people. DId you see the new MTV show that's replacing the Jersey Shore? it's WVA 20 somethings and the trailer is FULL of the word freedom. It makes you wonder at the producers' intentions. typical reality TV-with equipment and toys

Actually, I think GMU's main campus is in Fairfax... There is an economist there that has his head on straight. He actually does radio fill-ins for a guy that has a show from 12-3 EST.
VA was the cradle of the revolution... That is deeply ingrained in the history and culture. The looters are doing their best of wash it away!

I would say avoid cities along the Mexican border. There are some great border (or near) towns, like Ajo. You're in AZ and an hour and a half from the ocean. As well, I would say there are some very safe areas in Mexico, like don't need to lock your doors safe.

The richest "town" in America is Ashton, VA. The fastest growing county is Loudon, VA. Both are up near DC, which is a sad statement on our Republic... But I digress...

There is LOTs of land in VA. I live in Culpeper. I work in the "People Republic". I drive 110 miles a day, minimum. BUT, America starts here, and here I have planted my stake! Here, and no further!

So... take your pick south and west. The culture is as varied as any other state, speaking from town to town. Charlottesville is UVA, with the expected academic idiocy. Lynchburg is Jerry Falwell's backyard. The Shenandoah Valley is beautiful! The choices are wide, and all I have is your blurb above!

If our daughter ends up back that way, I was thinking about VA. What part do you prefer? I'm somewhat leery that VA is turning Lib.

In WY, I think anywhere but Cody. I hear it's liberal infested. In AZ, I like Safford. No reason, it's just a neet town. Avoid the Mexican border.

Yes, AZ. We are trying to get all of California businesses to move here (I heard it on the radio last week.)
