I used to listen to Garrison Keilor the humorist from Minnesota with his stories from Lake Wobegon, a place where 'all the men are strong, all the women are beautiful, and all the children are above average'. At that time I saw it as simple humor. Recalling it now, I see it as ironical, that is how the progressivist actually thinks. I suspect that Keilor was ahead of me in recognizing that.
