No fossil fuel used in the state after 2045. Jay Leno will have to move his classic car collection.
No trucks or helicopters to save a dam or to deliver food. Maybe they can bring back the bicycle built for 2.
Sanctuary cities hah ,The scum Eric Holder hired to oppose Trump. All for the"greater good"

There you go, they never think anything through, just grist for the never ending "bitch mill". Kalifornia has more complaints and yet screws things up more than any other state. just saw a thing on a bridge that got dorked because of the rains, and they are claimging it will be 450 million to replace and it didn't look to be more that 100 yards or so long. Everything is 10x more expensive there..must be a lot of skimming done...for the children, no doubt...

Certainly cost is no object when it is for the greater good. Sacrifice an individual's survival to
Help the less fortunate. I wonder how an electric helicopter or electric cement mixer will work maybe an electric plow they couldn't use horses with the methane releases. Geoengineering with electric planes ...cool. The cops could skateboard to the gangshootings. Hollywoods remake of Bullet could be made with a bicycle built for two.

And the most ridiculous part is that California doesn't even supply half of its own power needs - they import it from other western states - like my own - at exorbitant rates which they just pass along to their consumers. And when demand goes up - like in the summer time for air conditioning - their supply doesn't because any excess is being used up in the original generation area, leaving California to deal with brownouts.

I suppose if they don't generate the power and just use it. They can say look at us we don't pollute, never mind where it magically comes from. Bonus is the state can increase tax due to a higher base.

I have a friend that met him. He looks just like Leno, but he is about 50 now. He walked back stage, and when challenged, told people he was Leno's nephew. He got to Leno's dressing room. Leno walked in later and asked what they were doing there. They told him the whole story. He laughed, and said, "good work", signed some autographs, and they were on their way.

I know that it will never happen, but if California were to make good on the threat to Secede from the nation. It would be EXREMELY beneficial to the rest of the nation.

Indeed, I cannot see any reason to miss them, other than it would tilt the overall political equation to the right, as it would remove one of the Dumbocraps favorite nesting grounds. The real victory would be Pelosi would be jobless and pension less, as we couldn't pay a pension to a resident of another country..I hope.

We left San Diego just as California was turning from bad to unbearable. There are very few cities that are more beautiful, or have better climate than San Diego. You have the ocean, the mountains, the desert, and a great cultural life. But the cost of living is ridiculous. Taxes so high that most of the time you're working for the government. Restrictions so stringent that opening a small business without enormous capital is foolish. Why invest an amount that would cost 10 years to recoup when even average investing could start yielding without any effort on your part? Bye-bye S.D.,CA.

I lived there as a youngling from 1959 to 1968. We had a house that was on a dead end above a canyon that went to the beach area. Now it is all houses, even down into the canyon, all roads and houses...the fog used to come in in spring and fall and I remember it even snowed in the mid sixties once....

What wasn't mentioned in the article was the impending fiscal doom of the California public "servants" pension system. That entitlement bill is estimated at a trillion dollars and unpayable without instituting draconian high tax rates at some point in the near future.

When it looked like James Carville's prediction of Democrats in power for the foreseeable future was assured, there's no doubt that California was expecting a federal bailout to help them avoid defaulting on their pension promises. By ignoring the steady collapse of Democratic power over the last eight years, Democrat controlled states are facing disaster. Republicans will undoubtedly hold states to the fact that they cannot claim bankruptcy or expect a federal bailout, bleeding the more responsibly managed states taxpayers to pay for their folly.

What happens in the coming years is going to be unpleasant. When California and other progressively run states have to acknowledge they can't honor their pension promises, there will be widespread strikes and possible violence. Ultimately, the federal government may have to take over, under martial law to resolve the mess of the social states.

That future has been staring them i the face for at least 10 years. Oregon tried to slide a "Sales Tax that wasn't a Sales Tax" on gross income of companies, to force them to pay their "fair share". The Dumbocraps pooped their pants when it failed to pass, even when they consistently have a majorityout of just 2 counties to get all their idiots "elected". One reason I do not trust vote by mail, they elected a guy who was under investigation for corruption (and his live in girlfriend", who them resigned right after getting elected to avoid jail, and the Secretary of State got to be the unelected Governor fro 3 years and just got herself elected. Since they could not make up their deficit by looting companies, they have now got a package of taxes and fees that only require a simple majority in the legislature to pass. They are adding taxes on taxes to pay "for the children", when it really goes to the General fund and is funneled to PERS. If money laundering was illegal Oregon's politicians would go to jail, if it was really illegal. Kalifornia is doomed in the Ayn Rand sense of having looted to stay in power, the bill has come due.

I thought you were talking about Venezuela or Cuba but its only California; the transfer state...transfer from Asia to the rest of the US for a fee. How about a transfer tax on California but none on Idaho and Montana with the Dakotas. Just fun its the first day of Spring training games, go Red Sox

Can you say Venezuela? I say pull the life support federal government programs plug and let them sink. They made their own bed - they can sleep in it. As posted before, I vote for California to leave the US and join Mexico. Problem solved.

This concerns me a great deal being in the largest neighbor State to the East of Kaliformia. And with the way things are going in Nevada currently, a very unique State that used to be so free and libertarian is rapidly following the sucking sound down the tube to the West Coast.

Contrary to most of the rest of the nation, Nevada turned the entire State legislature over to the dumbocrats and voted for the witchbroom. The rest of us in the State need a wall protecting us from Clark County! This is bad. The Dem legislature is now introducing legislation countering everything Trump is on board with AND the Rino Republican Gov Sand-No-Balls is issuing commands for law enforcement not to arrest illegal immigrants. Which we have a ton of. This is bad. Our only wall to the west is the Sierra Nevada. It used to work.

The Dumbocraps seem to have hit on a process that gets them in. Find one big county, fill it with you beholders (usually state employees) and then they outvote the rest of the state. Look at Oregon election map, only 3 places voted for Clinton, and the Dumbocrap machine: Multnohma, Washington Counties and Eugene. All the rest voted the other way.

California doesn't go far enough. They need to eliminate the use of nuclear fuel, coal, wood, hydroelectric and the import of any product that was produced by said fuels (including solar or wind powered products) and transported on any part of the continent by said fuels.

Does he grasp the fundamental reason for the collapse of California? Does he realize we witness the collapse of the code of the looters?

He does not seem to come right out and say "Ayn Rand was right, the looters will destroy us all", but he does indicate that he understands the real problem is the Dumbocrapic choke hold on the state has led to a huge setup of laws, regulations and taxes and fees that benefit a very narrow and specific group. The vehicle that put them there (the State's earning power) is wasting away because those same special interests have no interest or feeling of need, to support the work needed to maintain that earning power. So, while Jerry Brown is whining and pissing about his little choo choo from hell, and dreaming about his "Big Dig" the state will crumble around them until people get so angry at not being able to get to work, or having no water or no power, they finally fire him and hopefully have a revolution against the idiots in Sacramento who have held them hostage for so many years to feed their corrupt crony's (like the unions and PERS people), or not, Kalifornians seem to like to bitch a lot and then go right back to the Dumbocrapic voter box, for some insane reason...

I always found the more salubrious the climate, the crazier the politics. People will pay a premium to live in such a nice climate. Try that up in Alaska, and you find a different attitude. The physical climate there is harsh enough without making people pay to live there.

It is funny that Alaskans seem to much more down to earth and willing to deal with reality. Must be that it is real hard to stay warm in -10degrees of global warming just reading from the book of Marx....and protesting something...anything...

That's because you are in Alaska only because you have work to do. If you haven't anything better to do, you decamp and go down South to the Lower Forty-eight. This leaves Alaska with a cadre of hard-nosed realists. Which is why Republicans carry the State more often than not.
