Women Go Viral After Closing Their Accounts at Nordstrom in Support of Ivanka Trump

There is some power left to the purse, at least some people actually are willing to put their money where they believe it will do something. The previously quiet group of people who neither loved or hated anything political seem to have finally hit a limit with everybody and their mother deciding to become political activists...

It reminds me of actors who get up on their soapbox and use their fame to push politics. To me they lose their appeal and you stop spending money to see their movies. It happens so often that I have not been to the movies in quite some time.

Me dino learnd here in The Gulch that Liam Neeson is all for gun control. Here's a link to back that up~
      http://theweek.com/speedreads/446265/...
Now gone is any desire for me dino to watch his hypocritical shoot 'em up flicks.
Previously viewed at the Jurassic World Theater, Rob Roy and Taken were pretty good but that's just too bad.
Neeson shoulda kept his pie hole shut.
Psst! Bet Liam has used armed body guards.

One reason I have little respect for any Hollywood elite. There are a few exceptions, but most have no idea about reality. A perfect example is a dude in Florida happened upon another dude (of the same unique racial character) beating the crap out of an officer, after the dude had tried to run tem over at a traffic stop. He got out with his concealed carry permitted gun, told the dude several times to stop beating the officer and get off him, and then shot the dude, killing him. He has been found not in violation of any law, and was deem correct under the "stand your ground" law. If we had Liam Neeson's perfect world, that cop would be dead, and the criminal out on probation. If it was his kids or wife being beaten by a dude, I bet he would be all over having guns, pipes, baseball bats etc....What a typical Progressive Prude.

Exactly, the one movie I would go see was Star Trek, but I had to give that up when CBS sued Axanar for producing something better than they wanted to make for mainstream. At that point I quit. Not to mention they have very little original thought in them any more and I really did not want to go see Fast and Furious 89 or the 6th remake of something else.

How savvy art thou, o great and wise Nordstrom!
Make a politics-based business decision that ticks off half the population of all freaking America.
It's expenses you need to steeply reduce.
    Not your profits. Duh!
Oh, good luck with that moocher clientele you must be hoping to attract.

Funny, it seems that the producers would have the money, more than a moocher. So one would think, if really, really concerned about the business, they would want to attract as many customers of all flavors as possible, and stay away from any controversial issues of any flavor. But, no, this is fallout from 8 years of "happy, politically correct thought" that pervaded every aspect of America through the Obamanation era. Primary reason The beast lost, people were done with it. Looks like they are done with Nordstrom too, at least some of them.

Today on my PC, me dino read two accounts about how, in response to Nordstrom's PC business folly, Ivanka's products are now being bought like hotcakes on Amazon.
That caused me to think of someone else whose music sales shot up to 1,000% since her Super Bowl halftime show.
That would be the very open Hillary supporter Lady Gaga, who shrewdly decided to "attract as many customers of all flavors as possible" with her performance.
I read that some on the far left were not at all happy that she did not make some political statement.
In a way she did by singing an already recorded song about being inclusive of ":all flavors" so to speak, but it was not in your face like Beyonce's dancing black girls, who wore bullet loaded bandoliers as if to supply ammo to shoot at cops. Lady Gaga starting off her performance by singing part of "God Bless America" must have really ticked off the America haters and flag burners.
Doubt there is enough flag burners out there to make much of a dent when it comes to buying music anyway.

I couldn't agree more about Lady Gaga. I have never been a fan of her music and some of her politics, and I was expecting something ridiculous at the halftime show. I was so pleasantly surprised at her performance. I'm still not really a fan of her music, but I was entertained and gained a lot of respect for how she performed as simply the entertainer she is, and not a political activist.

I'm a lover of rock and old time rock n' roll and kinda like her music, especially "Bad Romance."
When Lady Gaga sat down at a piano halfway through her performance, she said "I'm gonna make you feel good."
I think that was her way of telling the world that was all she was going to be about that night.

Stores that continue to sell Ivanka's brand might actually gain more business from Trump supporters than they lose from boycotters. The boycott itself might be mostly an empty threat, just like the earlier threats to "move to Canada". We haven't heard much about that lately.

And the whole "boycott Ivanka" story seems to have fizzeled. This one has longer legs than that one did, which is something the media will eventually have to figure out. A lot more people actually hope or believe Trump will do better than the current crop of politicos than the politicos and their media want to admit, especially publicly.

stores should simply stay out of politics, as should news organizations. If you dont like Ivanka's clothes, just dont buy them. What it has to do with her father's presidency escapes me completely.

I dont patronize CNN because they arent a news organization anymore, and I dont need or benefit from their slanted politics. I would stay in a Trump hotel if it was a good hotel, regardless of who owned it.

I bought her perfume from Amazon, and should receive it soon. Just another sale made to balance everything out.

I would say the real thing is that you like it, and bought it for that reason, but whatever floats your boat. Revenge buying is ok too, especially in the face of a political business...

I didn't even know she had a perfume until I started researching after all the brouhaha. I go to sites like Perfumania and Fragrantica to learn more about a perfume I'm interested in, and read reviews. This one sounds nice. Many other women collect shoes and purses, but I collect perfumes, so it's a win-win for me.

Business decisions should never be made upon political considerations, they never work out as expected. The Dems always accuse Republicans of being the party of the rich, I think the richest in the country are Dems, therefore the Nordstom customer base would be Republican. Remember, "The customer is always right!" There is a message there, the protesters on the left appear disheveled and unkempt so they don't shop at Nordstrom.

I buy a lot of online items, used to be Nordstrom, Macys, and Boston Proper, etc. When i heard the goofy liberal pleasing business decisions, I not only stopped all ordering from any who made business political, I told them to unsuscribe me from their e-mail sales pitches as well. I can live without Nordstrom, can they live with only the liberals' money, you know, the ones who dress like bag ladies?
