He best be careful walking this minefield. The clintonista's and O-rafices are sure to have sharpened knifes for this fight.

I was thinking along the same lines.
To dare to be different is not compatible with Jackass Party lockstep.

Or any party, everyone is demonizing Trump, simply because he is different. And not being a consummate political bitch, he fails to see all the angles. He just wants to get things done, which is a normal business position. It is not working, both with his own gang of looters, and the other one. This will not go well if they do not find a big hammer and use it.Just MHO, of course...

Lately I've been picturing the left as a bunch of crazed yapping chihuahuas all nipping at Trump's heels due to any move he tries to make.
Once had a grandmother-in-law with chihuahuas like that. She had to put the yowling little beasts in her bedroom whenever she had company.

The Left were sure they'd be able to fool the American people yet again. Since it didn't work this time, a lot of people are eager to place "blame" ... anywhere but themselves.

I love it when the snowflakes start eating their own young.

Jim Webb and other Democrats who still have control of their mental faculties have been saying this for some time now, but the media gravitates to the sensational, so the loonier the politician, the more attention. It looks like the crazies are in control of the party, and will have to complete the path to destruction before anyone gets a handle on the way back to sanity.

The danger we all face is that the more obstreperous leftists are treading the waters of insurrection and sedition. They condone and encourage violence, advocate for the overthrow of the Trump administration, and defy federal law with their sanctuary cities and states, all of which fit the description of violation of US Code 2383, Rebellion and Insurrection.

If the "resistance" spins up even more, the federal government will have no choice but to begin with arresting violators and jailing them for ten years. Jerry Brown needs to be very careful with his insistence that the entire state will not cooperate with ICE, as that places the state in a condition of insurrection. Under the Insurrection Act, the President can declare martial law in such a state and remove its government. The law passed in 1807 and still in effect, does not require the assent of Congress, and can't be challenged in federal court. I sincerely hope it doesn't come to this, but radicalized Democrats need to be aware they tread on a minefield that could end the party's existence.

Had Jim Webb actually ran, instead of running from the "party elite", he would be in the White House today.

With the DNC fanatically determined to nominate Hillary, Webb had no chance, unless he ran as a third party candidate. He might have actually had a real chance, given the desperate search for an alternative. Gary Johnson failed to provide that assurance he was a viable alternative to Clinton or Trump, but Webb could have. As a sane moderate, with military service and roots in both parties, he would have attracted support from both traditional parties, but the hierarchy of the establishment would have fought mightily against him.

Exactly and a lot of us told him that on Facebook. I don't know why he didn't run, he was SecNav when I was in and he seemed pretty good for everyone. he had a lot of good common sense positions, and Trump would benefit from his advice, if he wanted a broader view.

I think the democrats are highly unlikely to elect someone with an ounce of brains to the DNC chair position. If I had to guess I would say Jamu Green wins and that will be good for us all since she is on Fantasy Island with Warren, Franken, Blumenthal, Cummings, Pelosi and all the other nit wits.

Awesome split the dumocrats into the progressive communists and the middle-somethings. All better for clear minded Libertarians, if the L's can get a candidate that isn't a clown.

This is the end of the 2 major parties and a split into a British type set up, Liberals, Conservatives and "the other guys". The other guys sometimes win when they can side with one or the other, but it leads to precarious governing.

Maybe. In my mind, the less Congress can agree on, the less congress can do, and the better we all are.
If the progressives setup separately from the democrats, they have a middle position that is hard to enumerate. The key is whether the republicans can avoid splinting into a christian theocracy and libertarians.
All the republican party needs to do is change their tune from "Gays are a disgusting choice" to "We should all be allowed to do as we please, as long as we don't force others to endorse it. Society will find its own level. Government is not the place to dictate behavior"
That's is. The progressive position just becomes communism and they'll be shunned. the problem is those christians are so easy to manipulate by whipping them into a frenzy against made up anti-bible passage crap, just like the lazy, bleeding hearts are easy to whip into a frenzy against the wealthy and big business.
Let's whip the taxpayers into a frenzy against government intrusion, waste and fraud, and ask them why freedom is wrong. Progressives and theocrats have no reasonable comeback.

Well, and good, however, I would say there is still a place for a political structure to govern, if that structure is based on the good of ALL the people, not just the good of the "select" people. THat is the root cause of most of our dysfunction, it always gets back to a "select" group wanting "special" treatment, when 90% of the time it is the facts such treatment creates onerous burdens on others, who then seek their own special treatment, creating the cottage industry called "government".

"Government is not the place to dictate behavior"
          That's is."
Well, then I'd be a Republican, or whichever party said that. Handout-seeking by the non-poor drives me nuts just as the inefficiency of leaving a window cracked in winter does. Democrats have to abide them, and Republicans have to abide the religious nuts and out-and-out deplorables. Clinton was right on the money about that.

"Let's whip the taxpayers into a frenzy against government intrusion, waste and fraud, and ask them why freedom is wrong."
Yes. Make Republicans and Democrats explain why we need this much intrusion. And in politics, if they're explaining, they're losing. Making reducing gov't the question is more important than the answer.

I am just shocked this doesn't get more press. I was ecstatic to hear Trump wrote an executive order saying "If you write a new regulation, you must eliminate at least two old ones." Just awesome!

Remember, they make some ungodly number a day (like 200 or so, is what I remember). killing off 2 for one will not impact anything before the next Ice Age sets in... The Convention of States is the only way to go at this point...
