    The concept of a nation state has not existed forever and may be on the decline. I agree humans are a competitive animal, but I don't see why this _must_ end up in national competition.

    My take is that man is a competitive animal. Pretty much everything ultimately ends up as a "national" competition. Sadly, socialsim slowly but surely kills the competitive spirit until man has the will of an ameoba.
