    hey! my folks were like that, too, K! we lived in
    the best neighborhood in the city, in a modest house,
    and though we "had money", we didn't spend it.
    I was weird in my hushpuppies while the cool guys
    wore their weejuns. -- j

    They have a $5 lunch deal with a bacon cheeseburger, fries, a drink and a Sundae. I have a cherry sundae in the freezer just waiting for later. I'll have it for desert after the artichoke for dinner. I should add that since we don't have sales tax it was actually $5, not $5 and change.

    nice. what did you get for a treat? have I told you the story of change and my family. You had to go through coat pockets in the closet and find enough change if you wanted to go. luckily, a small crunch cone only meant a quick search. my parents were weird about money. if it was something important it was always there. then other times it didn't seem to exist except in coat pockets. oh, and you weren't supposed to talk about it.
