Clinton Global Initiative closing its doors

What is damning is that their funding sources (mostly foreign governments) have dried up. It's the rising smoke. If they really were a charitable institution, however, they should be able to keep helping, right? [sarcasm]

Want to know the reason I think they're closing up shop? If they close the doors, they can move the cash to someplace else prior to any trial. If the CGI is still open and Hillary gets brought up on charges of corruption, the prosecutors can freeze all the accounts while they do discovery.

This is a simple cover-your-tracks scheme.

For an in-depth look at the finances of the Clinton Foundation and their "fortuitous" timing to a variety of profitable deals, check out "Clinton Cash". If it were a Republican that had done anything similar, you know the media and Democrats would be screaming bloody murder, but since it is an elite member of their own party, they pretend nothing is happening.

I'm not siding with him, I'm agreeing with you that it is all in "the eye of the beholder". To the far left, he's a venerated figure (just listen to the talking heads gush about him). To those of us who celebrate personal liberty, he's a petty tyrant.

    Hello blarman,
I suppose that is true in a sense. His objectives are foreign to my thinking. It is hard for those of us with integrity and a completely different perspective to see it that way. The eye of the beholder?

If he had any intent of being a President intent on advancing equality, protecting rights, and promoting personal responsibility, feckless would absolutely be an accurate adjective.

On the other hand, he has been incredibly effective at advancing his agenda of enslavement, socialism, and government control. If you are a Progressive, he's been anything but feckless.

    Feckless
    1.ineffective; incompetent; futile:
    2,having no sense of responsibility; indifferent;
in a sentence : The feckless Barrack Obama and Clinton's use an evasive tactic when confronted about their lies,

Barracula has 2 more days to grant clemency, crooks like to protect each other believing that one day they will be protected by another.

There was so much that went on in that investigation no one with an objective viewpoint could say it was an honest inquiry into the truth. Most of the immunity agreements were made even before they had talked to anyone and they were so broad that anyone questioned could have gotten away with almost anything. And even after that you have the FBI prosecutors reading "intent" into a statute where intent is nowhere to be found and ultimately waving everything off as "bad judgement". It was absolutely sickening.

The one redeeming factor, however, is that because no formal charges were ever brought up, there is no double-jeopardy to protect the Clintons if actual charges are brought.

    Hello rainman0720,
:) Yeah.. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for public admission. They, like Obama, never take responsibility for anything.
    Respectfully,

Good catch Blarman. I hadn't heard.

They learned something from the e-mail scandal, where the Beast got off by deleting everything and the FBI granting immunity to all the witnesses. They may not be so lucky again. Time to brush off the foot and finger prints.

My understanding is that there are several on-going with the foundation, including several states' attorneys. The foreign donations themselves route through a Canadian subsidiary, where they can be bundled and disclosure of the original source is not required under Canada law.

Or without any access or favors to sell, the donations really have dried up to zero.

Loretta Lynch's promised golden parachute on the Phoenix tarmac just turned into a lead balloon I'm sure.

How much more obvious does it have to get? I wonder if this is considered fake news? How angry are the multi million dollar donors that expected access to the President? So many questions...

Hence why I started with "If". They are still under investigation, but the FBI has not said for what. e.g. the Anthony Weiner laptop story just before the election. Made news because it tied to Humedin and therefore Hillary.

Even if the funds are tied up for months or years before they are recovered, at the same time they are unavailable to the Clintons as well. In some jurisdictions the funds are kept by the host government rather than extradited back, Depends on the bank in question.

"Bill ... I've got a great idea ... let's get rid of the evidence before the FBI shows up."

    "Well, how, Hillary?"

    "With a cloth?"
