Clinton Global Initiative closing its doors

What is damning is that their funding sources (mostly foreign governments) have dried up. It's the rising smoke. If they really were a charitable institution, however, they should be able to keep helping, right? [sarcasm]

Want to know the reason I think they're closing up shop? If they close the doors, they can move the cash to someplace else prior to any trial. If the CGI is still open and Hillary gets brought up on charges of corruption, the prosecutors can freeze all the accounts while they do discovery.

This is a simple cover-your-tracks scheme.

Since DT was elected and the shield of O became porous the rats are abandoning ship. The magnitude of this shift us apparent in the size of the rats running, you don't get much bigger than the Clinton's. Whether DT proves to be a good or bad president, kudos to the American people for electing someone scares the crap out of the dirtbags.

I am not aware that any investigation is under way. Remember that Comey and the FBI under Obama declined to recommend prosecution giving the Justice Department an excuse to avoid it. As such, I think those movements (of money) have been pointedly ignored.

As to reclaiming funds once moved offshore, that becomes subject of extradition treaties, etc. and can get tied up for months - or even years - while they wrangle. And if the funds have moved several times...

If they are already under investigation the Feds will track the movement of the money. Foreign banks will return funds if illegality is proven.

I believe their actions of shutting down the CGI says something significant. A good lawyer might suggest it indicates "consciousness of guilt."
