    None of what the Left says about the Right is factual, so they need to stage things so it gives them leverage. If it's one thing you can count on from the Left is if there is nothing supporting their beliefs then they'll manufacture them.

      Wait a minute. I'm a conservative. A Barry Goldwater conservative. Abortion is a conservative answer to an immediate problem. Conservatives should be encouraging poor women to have abortions, not INSISTING they have children they can't feed... and that the rest of us will be FORCED to feed!

      Illegal drugs INCREASE the street value of those drugs and do NOTHING to prevent the use of those drugs and yet the "Right" if you will, is ardently against allowing the people to use their own discretion about what they put in their bodies.

      I could go on and on.

      I am a conservative but with the exception of 2nd amendment there is very little I agree with the Republican party about.

      The Left doesn't have to make up stuff about the Right. The Right wing in the US today is a bunch of little old ladies who'll be dead soon. As we can all see no one with a brain is joining that party to take their places. Conservative politics in the USA is nearly eviscerated. There is nothing "conservative" about believing in things that obviously don't exist and writing laws based on mythology.

          It sounds leftist to you because you are not really a conservative. You follow these christers who are not conservative at all. Look up the word "conservative." A conservative is a person who wants proof of effectiveness before he spends his money. A conservative wants to see the securities before he invests his money. A conservative only moves on tried and true principles, and speculates only on things he can experiment without great loss.

          Do you want to prevent women from having abortions because YOU might not go to heaven? Are you insane? Do you really think you have the right to tell anyone else how they should live their lives and what they can and cannot do? The people who have STOLEN the word "conservative" today hold these evil, megalomaniacal, and frankly stupid beliefs. They are NOT conservative. They are religious fascists.

    I grew up in Cleveland. I know Oberlin well. It is astonishing even to consider that any racists go to school there. Ordinary conservatives would be rare enough, though you might find more libertarians and Objectivists, actually. Everyone knows Oberlin and its reputation: it is a magnet for the like-minded, and that's fine.

    You would have to ask basic questions about how any such KKK students would have gotten into the school in the first place. It's a private school: you have to try hard to get in. Did their admissions process fail to reveal such backward and ignorant ideas in the applicants?

    And it is a small school. How could any racist even live in the dorms, go to the classes, without being known to their peers?

    Oberlin pioneered by admitting women and men in the same class in 1833. Charles Martin Hall figured out how to get aluminum from bauxite in 1880. After that, it's hard to say what progress was made...
