"Students can be punished" for filming, publishing prof's anti-Trump tirade
As the "assaulted" prof's union retaliates, gutsy students are now under the gun at Orange Coast College for capturing, posting freaked-out prof's wild, classroom assertions.
Not free speech.
Just their speech.
Now they DO call their speech free speech.
But it is not.
Now me dino feels strongly moved to write a word and that word is~ta da!~hypocrisy.
"The blind leading the blind" just popped into a probably just as old dino's head.
Maybe this is the professor~

Me dino went elsewhere in my email and immediately clicked on to the above with time to edit it in.
If the teachers comments are only for the indoctrination/intimidation of the student, then the student was correct in filming and posting the attempt at brain washing and intimidation on the part of the teacher. We live in a society that, at one time, favored the ree and ready exchange of ideas . apparently the teacher doesna't live in that thought world.
And the school administration supporting him is even more unacceptable.
I am in no way agreeing with whatever the Liberal Prof had to say. Just pointing out a rule that I remember from my college days.
The other problem I have with this, is this prof is off topic for the class. If this were a political studies or history class then this is appropriate classroom discussion. However, this is a human sexuality psychology class (another reason our schools aren't doing their jobs as this is akin to a women's or minority studies course that are essentially useless in the real world). How is Trump being elected relevant to this subject? Is the prof afraid that as soon as Trump takes office, there is going to be an explosion of sexual disfunction and deviancy that these psychology students will need to combat? I am sorry, (and as much as I believe colleges and universities have gone off the reservation by offering courses that have little relevance to real life), but I don't believe anyone is paying to hear any professor's opinions that have no relevance to the course. If you want to discuss your opinions find or create an open forum for those discussions elsewhere on campus, not in the classroom with a paying captive audience.
