Hi Neal. Good point about Hillary's book. Sales have been dismal with no reason to expect improvement. Why take America out when the movie is in theaters? This is when sales would peak.

Hi Rich, I tried to post that exact title and the Gulch told me it already existed. Wow, how quick this digital world works today.

Unfortunately we use Costco quite a bit. I read the second story about how they decided to drop it based on sales and the NYT Best Seller List as their guide line. "America" will be going on the NYT list on July 13th, and as I understand it, it should be there now but the NYT decided to ignore it for a while, not listing it. It's also interesting that Hillary's book is still in Costco, I thought I heard it wasn't selling well. It would be interesting also to verify the Best Sellers standings on these books and see if Costco makes another adjustment and brings "America" back again. I'm ordering a copy today just to get the sales up, and I've already seen the movie.

If they have a legitimate reason it won't be a big deal. Surprised they didn't have a press release prepared.

I'd like to hear an explanation from the company. They have the right to remove the book but they should have been prepared to say why. They had to know the question would be asked.

We dropped our membership over a year ago when it became apparent that they were politically active and seem to desire a progressive society. My issue was a gun control thing at the time, so this move isn't surprising. I like their concept, but don't like their politics, so there are other places to go--thank goodness.

Sorry to hear that. Other than Sinegal, they are quite a good business. They treat their employees well and customers (generally) even better.

I just posted the same thing about the book. Wouldn't it be more logical for the retailer to have the book available when the movie comes out?

That is their choice, and my choice is to no longer do business with Costco. I don't need the discount on 24 rolls of toilet paper that badly.
