I watched the movies with my grand kids when the DVDs first came out and never thought there was a whole Harry Potter lore out there other than in the toy aisle. If I've understood what he said, he used the classic fallacy of Affirming the Consequent: If P, then Q. Q is true, therefore P is true. Or another way, all birds have two legs. Aristotle has two legs, therefore Aristotle is a bird.

Here's the SPLC guy's argument: Racists like the phrase "drain the swamp" and some people who say "drain the swamp" support Trump. Therefore any Trump supporter who says drain the swamp is a racist.

I remember a long time ago my son came home from school in tears. It was when General Schwarzkopf ran the Gulf War. With a name like Schwartz, his friends were teasing him, calling him Schwarzkopf. I told him to tell his friends that we were actually related to the General but had shortened our name to make it easier to pronounce. After a few days my son was all smiles, the word had spread around the school and now all of a sudden he was some kind of war hero.

I suppose if someone really wanted to end the racist thing, perhaps having a little pride in being (black, brown, white, red, or whatever) might go a lot further than always trying to fan the flames even when there are no flames to fan. It's the George Soros's, Sharpton's, and Jackson's that won't let it happen. It's unfortunate for all of us that there are some younger one's out there also that just will not let it happen.
