"When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion—when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing—when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors—when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you—when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice—you may know that your society is doomed." - Francisco d'Anconia

As we see this play out in reality, one wonders how to compute how quickly we are approaching the cliff of collapse.

Ok...so we are doomed....then what? Obliterationism? Back to the dust? Is there nothing to hope in but ourselves? If so, yeah...we are doomed; however, there is hope and hope is in the One who created us. Don't call me religious...that's insulting. My God doesn't need me...I need Him.

If you have a better answer, I am all ears.

No. I'm about to get in the face of a guy in a few minutes. Resources are scarce they say. Not so. We are sitting here with more than enough water while houses burn. Contractors provide the best use of the taxpayers money, create jobs, pay taxes and put money back into the local economy. Instead some of these fires are using volunteer department resources rather than contractors. Rules say you can't use taxpayer money to make money.

Can you tell I'm a little ticked off right now?
