Those who live by the pen have written their own obituaries.

That depends on replacing their philosophy with a better one. Trump doesn't know how to do that and his rejecting them, in contrast to the usual pandering and sanction of the victim, is not enough. It's not enough to know what you are against, you have to know and advocate what you are for and it must be done in terms of principles. Otherwise, no obituary for the collectivism-statism.

While I don't agree with Trump on several items, his primary operating principle of "Drain the swamp!" is the same rejection of cronyism endorsed by Ayn Rand.

"Draining the swamp" is not a philosophy and Ayn Rand did not talk in terms of 'swamps' and 'cronies' as fundamentals. We can hope we know what he means by a 'swamp', but in addition to not saying what he is for other than "deals", he hasn't defined "swamp" or "draining" either. Anything the Pragmatist thinks is a "bad deal"? Legitimate immigrants? Free trade without punitive taxes in the form of tariffs? The right for a company to leave the country to escape punitive regulations and taxes? Private property rights against his eminent domain?

It's not enough to know what you are against, you have to know and advocate what you are for and it must be done conceptually in terms of principles.

We are not in disagreement here. We did not necessarily get what we wanted, but we just might find we got what we needed (with tribute to the Rolling Stones). I agree that Trump is likely to exceed his constitutional authority, and I don't like that either.

With all due respect, I doubt Trump means it that way, since he was a very active buyer of influence before his election and said repeatedly he considers that process a part of how America works and doesn't intend to change it.

Way long overdue! And all the voters who made Trump the president know the media for the corrupt conniving commie curs that they are.
We finally have a president who will call out their crud at every turn.
Trump has created an example conservative politicians and voters should not merely follow but strive to enhance.
Libtard media curs only perceive weakness when you try to make nice.
Kick 'em when they're up! Kick 'em when they're down! THEY are the dirty laundry.

Wrong term. Not a firing squad. A shooting gallery. One shooter, lots of juicy targets, lined up like sitting ducks.

The only thing that would have been better than this, would have been forcing them to stand idly by while John Galt hijacked their channels and dressed them down for three hours.

I never understood why republican administrations put up with the level of bull shit questions from reporters at press conferences, particularly at the white house. Someone asks a dumbass question, they should have their pass revoked for 30 days and the network told to send someone else. They would figure out how to act quickly enough…they cannot make any money without access and the administration can pull that away in a flash. .

Now that he won the election, the media needs to look at itself and stop claiming they are in the news business- OR change their tactics. At least FOX says they are "commentators", so you know where they stand. CNN should do the same.

Agree with Dr Brenner. I would add that When you lay with pigs you get dirty and smelly. The MSM is dirty and smelly.
The American public didn't buy into their garbage. TYrump carried 31 states some with as large a marging as 70%. If the MSM had really done it job, they nwould have seen the shift and reported on it with perhaps Hillary changing her approach. For that I am glad. They got caught up in their own story and prevented the Liar in Chief rom actually seeing what was going on.

    Go DJT,
    Go DJT,
    Go DJT.
I only wish we could lock those jerks in a room and give them a piece of our minds one at a time for 10 hours or so.
