Humanity has lwss tha 1000 years left?
"Stephen Hawking has a simple message for humanity: Haul your butt to Mars (and beyond). In a speech delivered this week at the Oxford Union, the legendary scientist says humanity can only survive another thousand years or so on Earth thanks to growing threats that include climate change, nuclear war, and artificial intelligence, CNN reports.
“I think the human race has no future if it doesn't go to space," the Daily Express quotes Hawking as saying. According to the Christian Science Monitor, Hawking says it's a "near certainty" that disaster will strike the human race within a thousand years if it stays on Earth, which he calls "fragile." There are some challenges on Earth, such as the depletion of its natural resources, humanity won't be able to overcome, he argues. Fortunately, the rate of space exploration is speeding up again, with private companies like Boeing and SpaceX picking up the slack from NASA and other government agencies. NASA is continuing its search for "goldilocks" planets, and Elon Musk recently outlined his plan for colonizing Mars. Hawking himself sounded optimistic, the Independent reports. “Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet," he said Monday"
Given mankinds propensity to war and the fact that the maens of waging war are becoming increasingly devastating even world ending, he may just be right. Think about it.

I've said it for years that mankind needs to spread out through space if we want to survive as a species.
All it took was a six-mile-wide asteroid to wipe out the dinosaurs. Mankind could not survive a hit like that.
Like my dad advised about the stock market, diversify to protect the money gambled against a bad investment.
Remaining on one planet is just asking for it.
Death has many doors. So does extinction.
If we feel the need to spread out through the solar system and beyond so would any other advanced life in the Universe be so compelled.
What truly civilized culture would feel we are worthy of anything more with all our wars and crimes and savages such as ISIS running amok?
Oh, yeah, I left out all the warped "intellects" who would vote for the evil hag.
Hawking's should know better than to falsely worry about climate. It's mind boggling that even the smartest man in the world, ( being generous), has been fooled by climate jerks.
