Understand that. That's the reason I joined in the first place. It is interesting to see how the political world supplies multiple examples of non-Objectivist thinking and actions from both sides of the spectrum.Almost all actions taken by the "Liberal" side and most take by the conservative side lack any foundation in Objectivism or for some actions even semi-rational thought.

I agree. I always say when I downvote. However, the way the site is set up, those posts not desired on the site can be hidden from view with a downvote. Remember this is not freedom of speech. we are all in a living room. and the stated goals of the site are to promote Objectivism.

I know this is an Objectivist site. However no one is a perfect Objectivist or a perfect Conservative or for that matter a perfect Liberal. all are a blend of ideas and ideals. What I have noticed is that some posts are demoted because they have a conservative tone. Not just mike there are at least two others this happens to.
As an Objectivist site I came to expect a free and open exchange of ideas not the relentless downgrading of ideas that are not what you want to see/hear.
I think that if you want to downgrade a post, you should enter a comment as to why. If it is because it is just a news feed, say so. If it is because you think it is dumb, say that. As you stated in you original comment this is about discussion and an exchange of idea. If you don't comment there is no exchange of ideas, no flow of thought.

Personally, I'm not here for points. I'm mostly here to learn and to teach when I can. There are so many news posts that I cannot read them all. I will only read a post when it is a subject that I've not seen before and if I think it may impact my life or someone gives me a good reason to read it. I don't down vote a news feed. I just don't read it unless there is a compelling reason. My 2 cents, for what it's worth. Hope this helps.

I didn't think you were. Also, I post news feeds because I don't see anyone else posting ones that I find interesting and worthy of cvomment. I appreciate your feed back, but it is not the only reason I loose points. The ones that seem to loose points are political in nature and almost always from the conservative pOV. I post other things and others post them also and they loose points. It not the loosing pof points. That is immaterial to me. It is the loosing points without comment as to why.
Your feedback about posting news feeds was the firt info I had received on what to post and not post per the unwritten rules of the Gulch. I've been posting and a producer for over three years without a serious issue with my posts. In the last three months it has gotten annoying especially the non attribution aspect. If you don't like what I post tell me and tellme why. Common curtesy.
    Anyway. Thanks for the feedback.

no. You are losing points because you are just posting newsfeed. Post articles and engage us in conversation. I am not removing points from you. Please enjoy the site!
