My limit is around 10%, to pay for roads, the military, and other basics. Other than that, everything is a waste of money.

    Ironically, former Obama economic guru, Christine Roemer, published a paper calculating the sweet spot on the Laffer Curve at 33%. That is, the tax rate that would result in the most revenue. Her old boss just wants to punish the rich even if it results in less revenue. He said as much when asked this specific question in a debate prior to the 2008 election. Idealogy trumps practicality with this guy.
