    The future? :)
Sorry mminnick, I couldn't help myself.
Of late, it has been such a strange ride, I hesitate at prognostications.
    My apologies,
    O.A.

It is possible that they could getr a filibuster proof majority. Not likely but definitely possible.

This article appeared before Trump's victory, but is still timely: "Democrats brace against potential 2018 Senate 'disaster'"
    http://www.politico.com/story/2016/09...

Democrats and their "independent" allies have 25 seats up for grabs in 2018, Republicans have only 8. No way is the GOP likely to lose the Senate.

I predict the GOP will lose seats in the Senate and House but will retain a razor thin control.

I also predict Uncle Sam will be experiencing sky high inflation and popping of the bubbles in US treasury bonds and the real estate market. Interest payments on the national debt will skyrocket by 2018 midterm elections.

It all depends on if there is enough courage to do what needs to be done, and quickly. Changes need to happen swiftly so the results can be seen well prior to the next election.
