I work hard every day against the fears you are addressing. an example. DB and I are open border people. I think that people should travel freely. I can debate that, happily. but that is my stance
I am concerned with the turn toward violence I'm seeing in all aspects of American society. Football plyers (in fact all pro sports players) are seemingly more abusive towards their wives and girlfriends. College players of all types engaged in sexual harassment and sexual assault. The cyber-bullying at all levels. All of this is very disturbing. Abetting all of this is the propensity of the MSM (main stream media) to slant stories to fit their preconceived notions of what is to be printed/broadcast. Add the obscene devotion to political correctness and you have such a volatile mess that almost anything could set it aflame. The USA is not the nation I grew up in. Perhaps it never was as I like to remember it, but if definitely was not the one I live in now. If you want to use this in your next novel, a small footnote please. :)
Thank you, K. I am concerned about the increasing violence and increasing acceptance of authoritarianism in the US. I am thinking that you and DB are very thankful to be expats, given these trends...
