New feature: Vote Neutralization

You've just voted on a Gulch post and, "DAMN IT!" you hit the wrong button and voted the wrong way.

Easily solved: click the opposite button and your vote is switched. Nice.

But, what if you just wanted to back out your vote? What if you hit a vote button accidentally when you didn't even mean to vote? Until now, you've been out of luck.

Introducing "Vote Neutralization."

From here on out, if you ever mistakenly vote and simply want to back it out, just click the same button again and, voila. Go ahead and try it out on this post, or any post, to see it work.

And then vote this post up permanently because you love it.

It works! Thanks for the tweak. (Using Chrome on my PC. I will try it with Safari on my Mac later.)

You can't give yourself an additional point BUT (I just discovered) you CAN minus a point. I just did it to myself as a test... I need to go back thru my comments and adjust accordingly. This could take a while. Wow..I can actually get it down to a -1 if I click it twice...so that's minusing 2 points. Oh gawd...I feel another tutorial coming.

No...and not that long ago. After wwjgd vanished and before dk became scarce :( I think someone was accusing dk of being racist and he said that yeah he hated blue smurfs...or something. ?

I just saw another phenomenon. If you are reading comments at a post.... and someone other than you has a white thumb....that means that you voted there.

LOL.... that was worth a revisit...even if I'm left looking like a moron. Poor Scott, jumping through hoops trying to get us to understand simpleton shit. (Right now you have 2 blue thumbs...thumbs on your own comments are always white to YOU..you can't vote yourself up or down even if your comment sucked or was stellar..you get and auto 1 when you post, period. Should I attempt to explain that in different words or did you understand it the first time? LOL As for the "R-card" Some in here have already declared they're racism against the Smurf thumbs.)

Ohhhhh... the highlight disappears but it still lets me click it.. my bad. There I go again assuming. (I've been conditioned by the blue thumbs!!)
Okay..sorry I took up so much of your time with my stupidness. lol :( eek

RE: "how do you get it back to the original 1 count?"
Just hit the same vote button again - NOT the opposite vote button. If you hit the upvote button and want to back out your vote, hit the upvote button again.
