The history of mankind is longer and more complex than was first believed. Our current run seems to be somewhere between 100 to 200 thousand years. But our history of achievements don't seem to go back further than 50K or so. It would be interesting to discover how many civilizations rose and fell during all that unrecorded time.

As to the nature of the involvement of toilets in history, it seems as if many ideas, were born there, and how many deaths. I know that many famous people have died on the "throne" - Elvis just to mention one. As to relieving oneself in the wildersness I can attest that when on a raft trip down the Colorado river the only thing I missed during that 10 days was the good old porcelain fixture.

Me dino has woods with lots and lots of all kinds of trees on two sides of where I live.
Three if you count the dead end past a house next door.
Maybe I should try to make some monumental discovery by killing two birds with one stone.

I found some interesting rocks in my woods, Strange markings turned out to be plant fossils and electric etchings. Most of the rocks came from the north, carried by the glaciers down to the shores.
            Always enjoyed Geology classes.

Same happened to me on Long Island NY...brick-like gray clumps of stone with leaf prints and others with three toed claw prints. I also found, a large, about the size of a bowling ball but not round a chunk of obsidian.

In my younger years I really enjoyed Geology as well.

                That cool.

When in community college geology class we went to Roxbury ct to an old iron smelting area in the woods. A special rare kind of iron ore was smelted there and there were a lot of garnets too; used for sandpaper.
I found a few specimens of that same iron laden rock with garnets and galena in my yard in Westbrook ct.

If you're real lucky in an Alabama woods, you may find an Indian arrowhead. I haven't been really lucky, but I still recall Alabama's four basic tribes (just rattled of Choctaw, Chickasaw, Cherokee, Creek) taught in the fourth grade which leaves out the Alabama who lived in the area I live in as you can see~
http://www.native-languages.org/alaba... The Koasati were never mention either.
Once up I dug up an old tiller from the suburban neighborhood lawn of a backyard I used to have where it used to be all farming country up until the 50s.
I thought it would look good in a front yard flower garden. Mistake! It was stolen within four hours.
Think I knew who did it. Same two brat brothers who kept messing with my Christmas lights.
Their mama is related to my ex. I wanted to go over and have a chat with their parents about the Christmas lights but my wife at the time said not to think about it because she knew those people.
Don't talk in no way negatively to them about their kids. Not ever.
Those two spoiled brats grew up to high school age, got into a spat with a grocer over skateboarding in his store's parking lot and days later got around to beating his brains out with baseball bats.
They were encouraged by their parents to plead not guilty when tried as adults.
They are still serving 35 years before the possibility of parole.
Way ta go mom and dad!
My three have never even been arrested and two are married raising kids.
