The Cycle of Human Complacency and Servitude
My commentary.
Can we break these cycles? Not by will but by reason, not by destruction or stagnancy, but by understanding them and avoiding the pitfalls.
The first thing western society needs to learn is that these cycles exist. Everything in existence is a cycle of one or another...so if we use a sports metaphor...might we understand by "moving the ball forward" we advance our understanding and competence to weather...the cycles of existence...just enough to move it forward, one step at a time, each time and therefore making history a linear progression from this time on.
This was the intention all along in western thinking but we forgot about the cyclical nature of things. It is not that history would follow a straight line...It's that the cycles of history, dealt with competently each time would move forward in a straight line, just as we might envision a circular object moving from left to right one complete turn at a time.

Spengler talks of cycles and the rise and fall of societies and cultures. Very similar to what is transpiring now.

In my next book (in progress) I will at least mention that these cycles seem to match up to natural cycles and events as well.
Think about it...right now we are entering a Grand Solar Minimum - a 400 year cycle...our forefathers were born around then. Our magnetic shielding has weakened about 25% making those least aware, vulnerable to the smallest of flaring and CME's. These are electrical events, they not only effect the earth and our weather...they effect the brain. Of course those of us that have access to a mind can moderate those effects but more that 1/2 the world does not...not to mention the worlds delete ruleless class...they seem to be the least aware.
That just might explain our current cultural schizophrenia.
