Here's another question no one bothers to ask & discuss in high school and college: Who profited from the war? Ok, here's another way to ask: Who financed the Brits to go to war? Dig back beyond 1776 to see who'd been financing the british crown to go to war to find out.

I love your #6 - Is there an app for that? What a great concept. If there was an app, perhaps more people could at least learn a little about the Declaration and what the 4th of July actually represents to America besides parades and a BBQ. Just someone walking around in a crowd asking the other questions and perhaps handing out prizes (maybe $5) to those that can answer correctly might help. First advertise it. "At the (city) parade this year there will be 50 interviewers asking questions about the 4th, The Constitution, The Declaration of Independence, The Bill of Rights and those that have the right answers will win a prize. It might get some to actually read, look at their "app" and learn something before attending. They might look at it like something for nothing other than looking at some facts on their app..

I was embarrassed for this country when Jessy Watters (Watter's World) asked people some questions about our heritage. For the most part they were college people. Is it apparent to anyone else that these people must have skipped grade school yet alone attend college? How did they make it into college with their lack of knowing even the basics of our country? Do our grade "skools" not teach any of it anymore? What's the danger of not knowing about our past? Think where we might be today had we not been taught at least the basics..

That would explain why so few people have read the Declaration of Independence rather than just get the Reader's Digest version from elementary school. BTW, I do remember COBOL and still do some programming in Fortran, although most of my programming is in LabView or G code now.

The idea that all "should hear the good news preached to them" is a very Christian perspective, and I am not saying that it is wrong. They should hear it. However, as with Christianity, the responses are either yes, no, "This is lunacy.", or "I'll investigate this further." Interestingly, the apostle Paul writes in one of his epistles that it is not the Christian's responsibility to make someone believe; rather it is the Christian evangelist's responsibility to sow seeds and water. The same should be true of apologists of Objectivism. You may be able to "hook" them, but is that really your responsibility?
