Let's write a BASIC 4th of July history quiz!

After watching the uneducated fools show that they didn't know why the 4th of July is celebrated, I'm temped to write the most basic of U.S. Revolutionary History quizzes and offer $5 if you're under the age of 25 and can answer all the questions correctly.

Sounds like a quick way to go broke, really, but it would sure be fun. A GREAT place to do this would be at the fireworks displays tonight [assuming it doesn't rain].

OK, I'll spend $30 just for the entertainment value if you folks help me write the questions.

Send them to me! - and the answers, too, as a double check on my memory - and see if we can come up with 5 - 7 good questions with solid factual answers.
"Why do we celebrate the 4th of July?" is out - it's already been proposed in the video.

I can't video it, but I will hold on to the quizzes so I can tell you the best answers - or the worst..

Rothchild empire in London. Formerly known as Bauer. Mayer Amschel Rothschild. Rothschild really means "Red Shield" in German. Where it really all got started ~ Frankfort, I believe. Read Pawns In The Game by William J. Carr for more and highly detailed information. Who funded the French Revolution? Yep, the same folks. Who majorly profited from Napoleon's defeat at Waterloo? Yep, same jackarses. Mr. Carr goes to great lengths to explain. Footnotes & references are listed.

Here's another question no one bothers to ask & discuss in high school and college: Who profited from the war? Ok, here's another way to ask: Who financed the Brits to go to war? Dig back beyond 1776 to see who'd been financing the british crown to go to war to find out.

Sounds almost like the so called rights of another Empire that supplied its people with bread, circuses and leeches.

Was it really about the tea tax? (Cover story anyone?) OR was it really about the brits (via the Rothschild orders) decision to force the colonies to no longer issue Colonial Script which, in under a year, put prosperity out of reach for most people, and drove up unemployment. If you still believe it was the tea, it's time to drop the indoctrination from high school: dig a little deeper and read the books they don't want you to read. (Thomas Jefferson's essays and letters)

Raise the age to 40, offer $10 per each correct answer and deduct $5 for each wrong answer. I think you'll come out ahead.

Who did we fight in the Revolutionary War? HINT: It's NOT France.

Name one country that helped the colonists in the Revolutionary War.

What was the Boston Tea Party?

You should probably include a question about where the first Continental Congress was held.

Q: Why is the 4th of July a legal holiday?
A: It commemorates the adoption by the Continental Congress of the Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776.
    I can't continue.
I learned this stuff as a little kid and the knowledge that most young American are clueless about our country's history makes me angry, sad, frustrated all at the same time.

Name 2 of our major allies in the revolutionary war?

Where was the Declaration of Independence signed?

Why were (are) the original 13 states known as "colonies"?

Great question, DaveM49! Ironically, it is the same crime that Obama should be convicted of right now.

I love your #6 - Is there an app for that? What a great concept. If there was an app, perhaps more people could at least learn a little about the Declaration and what the 4th of July actually represents to America besides parades and a BBQ. Just someone walking around in a crowd asking the other questions and perhaps handing out prizes (maybe $5) to those that can answer correctly might help. First advertise it. "At the (city) parade this year there will be 50 interviewers asking questions about the 4th, The Constitution, The Declaration of Independence, The Bill of Rights and those that have the right answers will win a prize. It might get some to actually read, look at their "app" and learn something before attending. They might look at it like something for nothing other than looking at some facts on their app..

I was embarrassed for this country when Jessy Watters (Watter's World) asked people some questions about our heritage. For the most part they were college people. Is it apparent to anyone else that these people must have skipped grade school yet alone attend college? How did they make it into college with their lack of knowing even the basics of our country? Do our grade "skools" not teach any of it anymore? What's the danger of not knowing about our past? Think where we might be today had we not been taught at least the basics..

What are the self-evident truths (and how many of them are there)?

Did active hostilities start after the Declaration, or before? (You can get a clue by reading it.)

Did the authors appeal to God?

That would explain why so few people have read the Declaration of Independence rather than just get the Reader's Digest version from elementary school. BTW, I do remember COBOL and still do some programming in Fortran, although most of my programming is in LabView or G code now.

Actually the Fourth of July is celebrated in four other countries. See the 4th of July trivia link that I posted as part of my first answer to your request for quiz questions.

The idea that all "should hear the good news preached to them" is a very Christian perspective, and I am not saying that it is wrong. They should hear it. However, as with Christianity, the responses are either yes, no, "This is lunacy.", or "I'll investigate this further." Interestingly, the apostle Paul writes in one of his epistles that it is not the Christian's responsibility to make someone believe; rather it is the Christian evangelist's responsibility to sow seeds and water. The same should be true of apologists of Objectivism. You may be able to "hook" them, but is that really your responsibility?
