    while I am pretty sure that the insurance companies would love this.. Implementation would be so expensive and error prone that no one would want to do more than talk about it..

    “Sci-fi nightmare” seems a little extreme in my opinion, though I can certainly understand why some people might fear that personal information could too easily fall into the wrong hands with mass digitization. Though to be honest, I think identity theft from common thieves is a bigger threat here than potential government tracking.
